Vols in NBA Draft

I guess that plays a part, yeah sure if he could dribble or shoot like Steph that point is moot, but he doesn’t have that capability anyways. He’s not gonna develop that skill in college. Remember when people were like “oh Yves needs to come back and work on his dribbling” and yes COVID but he didn’t start taking the ball to the basket with his handles.

He was gonna have to get measured anyways most likely. Unless you’re a top, top pick teams want measurements. And they will take them during meets. He was gonna get measured anyways. And if he refused huge red flags would have come ip

I mean maybe, but Duarte skipped and he is arguably the hottest name in the draft.

Either way though, he looks like a first round pick so he made the right call.

And Duarte has done individual workouts I’m sure where they measured him.

But yes Keon still made the right call

Oh I know he would be measured in individual workouts. But I'm not sure he would work out for every team. So if the teams that didn't have him in don't have his true measurements, then they can't knock him down their boards for that. Basically you're limiting the poor information from getting out to everyone. If that makes sense.

Now I also have no idea how often teams share info on guys. I know there is some talk and sharing of things, but you also have to be careful someone isn't trying to steer the draft in a certain direction for their team.

Looks like u are right, Lakers going to trade that pick with Kuzma, Harrell and KCP to the Bullets (I know, still the Bullets to me) for Russ.
Yeah, they can’t afford to wait when lebron will be 37 in December

How? He’s not a #1 pick type talent. There isn’t really a difference between #7 or #18. Besides he would be better serve to improve his skills in the NBA.

If he was 6’6 with a 6’10 wingspan he’d be a top 8 pick. The problem isn’t talent or skills it’s that he is shorter than expected
Unless you make it to a 2nd contract, there is pretty considerable difference, financially between #7 and #18. I see Keon as a boom or bust pro, and so a 2nd contract isn't a guarantee for him.

And I strongly disagree with the bolded. The two issues are not mutually exclusive. They are both problems (skills and size, not talent). He measured in at SG size, but he hasn't demonstrated an ability to shoot the ball effectively, and his ball-handling is sloppy. Those are correctable issues. His shot isn't broken. If showing improvement in those areas is the difference in going #20 and going in the top 10, then I think he could have benefitted from another year in school. But it doesn't necessarily mean he made a wrong, or bad choice.

I'm predicting Keon and Springer both end up in LA. Keon to the Lakers at 22 and Springer to my favorite WC team, the Clippers at 25.
Count me shocked if Keon drops that far. I’m still convinced barring injury that he has a long a successful nba career. He’s crazy athletic and has a competitive drive second to none on both ends of the court. 3-4 years down the road a team won’t regret having taken him top 10 . JMO, TIFWIW, AARP

Bama’s Josh Primo goes before Jaden and Keon. I understand he’s younger but I don’t remember him being that much of a factor in either of our matchups.

I remember him distinctly. Very Good player that fit in well with all of Bama's senior laden team. I feel he would have showed out more if he didn't take a backseat to the older guys. But that team was stacked.

Another SG Duarte ahead of Keon...? Any word on why??

I saw some mock drafts and reports discussing concern about Keon's offensive game. He is clearly an elite defender and has insane athleticism, but his jump shot was always going to be some concern for his draft stock, IMO. I hope he doesn't fall too far. I would hate that for him.
