i figured we would lose alittle ground with adams decommit and willis waivering. i'm thinking with the guys we got leaning toward us with green and cullen and some others on the radar we should be a top 10 class. with that said and all this BS with the ncaa i think it will probably keep us outside the top 5. i'm thinking 8 sounds about right.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be fine....I'm not worried with this staff that we have. Wait til the recruiting dead period ends and it gets closer to NSD. We will be fine.

And...BTW....we're going to land in the top 5....

Maybe you haven't followed recruiting long enough to know how it works but defections this time of year are normal....and most of the people who have left or are leaving are going to be replaced with higher quality players...with the one exception being Willis if he leaves...

If the chips fall really well for us we could land as high as 2...but top 5 is very likely with what we've got in the works

so you are not worried with the lack of commits and players waivering. i think we will be ok, but i'm also thinking that not to many more commits are coming are way. kiffin pulled people late last year, but didn't have the dark cloud of the ncaa over his head at the time. i felt alot better last year at this time than right now. just my opinon which means nothing. just going by what is happening out there right now. lane could have a ton of silent commits, but right now i just don't think so.

I understand the worry but we're in really good shape with alot of highly rated prospects from what I've read...

We will likely finish with 18-20 4 stars (per Rivals...I know that seems crazy but it's true) and 8-10 3 stars...with a couple of 5 stars being an outside possibillity...

And more importantly...we are filling our glaring needs very well (QB, OL, DL, speed at the skill positions)...

I think we all need to relax and trust this staff to do their work...

But what do I know...I'm sarcastic, unintelligent and uninformed

Ken Adams dropped us or more accurately we totally stopped pursuing him once Menzie was a lost cause. Adams was a three star prospect that filled a need in this class. I would say our ranking will likely come out better without him in the end than with him. No need to worry the sky isn't falling. If we lose Willis, I don't want to think what this board will be like. Still have a great chance at Elam and some other elite prospects. The roller coaster is just going to get more wild between now and NSD, try not to have a break down because in the end most UT fans will be very satisfied with the class this staff brings in.

sarcastic unintelligent and uninformed. add neagtive and you could add me to that list as well. i would like to see some more olineman dtackles and dbacks, but if we hit what you are talking about with rivals i would be satisfied.

Amen brother...

It's a scary time...we could very likely hit a bunch of huge prospects and be dancing in the streets over this class....or we could miss on a bunch and have a solid class but be really dissappointed because we all put alot of faith in this staffs ability to "get who they want"...

But we do only have about a month to go before we know for sure...

I just hope it gets here fast cause I'm going to get fired for spending too much work time on here if it doesn't

Will there be another rating or (star) adjustment before NSD? and if so do we have any commits that may move up to a 5 star level?

They rate the players after the all-star games and then again after NSD oe last time...

Thank you for the civility...and I apologize for being a jerk...sometimes I let the anonymity of the message board cloud my judgement...

Anyway...I don't follow Scout...so I can't say what they'll do as far as ratings go...

Rivals generally will do one more rating after the all star games...but a player has to really dominate in the practices and game to get a bump at this point...especially from 4 to 5 stars...but it can happen...Miller is the most likely...

My prediction for us at this point is 1 five star, 19 four stars and 7 threes stars...which in most years would land us in the top 3 easily....

I imagine we would be somewhere close to that on Scout as well

Not sure. Heard it rumored that Miller might be on the verge of being a 5 star but honestly it doesn't matter. We need to shore up the OLine, and add some speed everywhere. If we add a prospect like Elam, no one is going to care about losing Ken Adams. Willis is the only one that concerns me because we need to add some elite talent at DT in this class; I'm sure we'll be fine but that loss would actually sting. I think we end up with a top five class though so I'm not that concerned.
