I imagine we would be somewhere close to that on Scout as well

I'm no expert, and I'm not being sarcastic, but has anyone ever signed 19 four stars? That would almost certainly be the #1 class wouldn't it?

Scout's JUCO rankings are much better/in-depth than Rivals'...

Lack of commits? We are running out of room now. That's why we are turning guys like Adams, Harris, Broussard, and Jose away. We have much bigger targets and only 7 spots left in this class. We would only have 3 spots left if we kept all those guys. You are right, not too many more commits are coming our way. We are about full...

So you felt better last year at this time when Fulmer's recruiting class was falling all to pieces (Oku, Moses, Boyd, etc.) and Kiffin hadn't even hired a staff to help him recruit? Not to mention that Nuke, Bryce, Janzen, and Myles were not even blips on the radar at this point. You felt better about that than having a top 10 class already and having some big time commits still waiting in the wings?

There is a reason that the Rivals guys keep saying UT is a darkhorse for the #1 class. There is a reason that the ultraconservative Hubbs said today the believes we finish with a top 5 class. There is a reason we have turned away recruits like Gio Bernard and TJ Leifheit. We are going to finish with some very highly rated recruits...

I just did a quick check on Rivals and found that Bama signed 19 in 08 and was #1, LSU signed 19 in 07' and was 4th, somebody (FSU I think) signed 18 in 06' and was 3rd...

I say we lose Willis which puts us at 12 four stars...then we sign Green, Cullen, Wilson, Lemonier, Nelson, Jones, and Dixon to give us 19 total...

I'm also saying we sign one of Seastrunk/Elam/Lattimore (I know they're all long shots but isn't that what we're kind of talking about) to give us the 5* I mentioned...

I see us finishing 2nd-4th behind Texas, Bama, and maybe UF if they pull it together

I feel like I have to disclose that in no way am I an 'insider' or an 'expert ' on any of this...all I know is what I read on here...

With that being said the general opinion is that someone (most likely UF) would have to beat us to get Green...so yes I do believe we will sign him

Personally, with a more conservative guess. I say we lose Willis and Ralph Williams. With that said, I think we sign Chaz Green, David Mahoney, Robert Clark, and Ahmad Dixon.

i mean lack of commits lately. what i was trying to say is last year there was alot of optimism around the team and the new staff you could feel the momentum. this year just doesn't seem to have the same feel with all the negative pub. we still have 7 recruits to be filled maybe 8 if willis decommits. that really doesn't look like we have filled up. auburn on the other hand they are just about done. just my opinion. do you really think we can land the number 1 class in the country this year? i like the optimism, but i think more like 5-8 somewhere in there sounds right to me. so i guess what you are saying is that the distractions off the field will cause no impact and all is well. thats your opinion and i can respect that. i hope your right.

But we do only have about a month to go before we know for sure...

I just hope it gets here fast cause I'm going to get fired for spending too much work time on here if it doesn't

CLK was barely on board this time last year when we were lower than whale sheet and ended up with a great signing class. I hear Chicken Little clucking.

Wow, 18 4stars..that's HUGE. IMO, albeit an optimistic one, we will finish stronger than death for the second year in a row, putting us inside the top 5.

You can write Lattimore off. He fed some unflattering quotes to the NYT about the hostess issue and also said he would not be going to UT.

Our negative pub pales in comparison to UFs. And no, I don't think 2 girls going to a high school football game will affect our recruiting...

No, I don't think we will land the #1 class. It is gonna be wide open for the taking though. Texas is pretty much full. There's no way UF gets the #1 class now. USC and OU are possibilities. Bama could sneak in with the #1 class yet again. So could UT, but we would have to get very lucky to get that high...

We will finish somewhere in the 3-7 range imo and I think we would have to be pretty unlucky to fall to #7. When you start adding in guys to the rankings that we look good with, we climb fast...

I thought I read that he was misquoted in that article...like he said something vague and the NYT spun it as "UT's out of it for me"...

Of the 3 I listed I definitely felt he is the longest shot...but it'd be nice to get him or Seastrunk to compliment Brown for the next couple of years

I personally don't give crap where Lattimore ends up, really I don't. I hope he goes to an SEC school and Miller gets a chance to shut him up good!

Champyvol: Look at your avatar and rate it excluding the numbers 1,2,9,and 10. That is your ranking of our recruiting. Then if it (recruiting ranking) is higher or lower you'll still be able to same damn fine anyway.
