Vols Now Ranked 13th On Scout

Vader, got a question fou u: Since we have 7 spots left, what is our best and worst scenarios for who fills those spots, and then what is the most likely outcome?? I appreciate the Intel!!!

IMO GV57 stated it very well. :good!:

The only thing I would add is that Adams' decommit should be viewed as a plus for us, not a minus. We now have 7 more slots to fill with top recruits instead of 6.

I understand the point you and GV57 are making. I guess my only concern is why we are slipping in the recruiting rankings when none of the other top programs appear to be. I know recruiting is far from over and our staff does a great job. It just "feels" like we are slowly losing momentum. I'm really hoping that we have a great showing at the CFA Bowl. Hopefully that will give us a nice boost going into the big recruiting push.

It's so hard to tell really. There are so many people who are high on us and a ton of big time prospects who are going to visit in January and it is impossible to predict what will happen when we get them on campus. Remember, this time last year, Bryce, Janzen, Nuke, etc. had not even visited UT yet and we got them. It's gonna be fun from here on out and we will finish strong...

I think land Green and Cullen for sure. Outside of that, your guess is as good as mine. I do think we are setting good with Ahmad Dixon, Nickell Robey, and Damien Robinson (if we want him) at the moment. We will land 1 of Stone/Robinson/Arie/Wilson/Coleman on the OL jmo...

Because the recruiting rankings are jacked up. a team with 17 3stars, 2 4star, and 1 5star could end up being ranked higher than a team with 2 5stars, 4 4stars, and 4 3 stars just because of the sheer number of commits. Thats the reason i pay no attention to the rankings. Get the players we need and let the coaches do the rest.

It really doesn't matter if we finished ranked 1st, 5th, or 8th. All that matters is that we met our needs by position and that we recruit basically to the same level as our rivals, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, etc. We basically lost this year to Florida and Alabama due to them having more talent on the field and not coaching. Our lack of depth due to subpar recruiting classes and player dismissals is the reason we are were we are at.

Yeah, it's just frustrating when you see schools like Texas, Florida, USC, and 'Bama who seem to have their spots filled up early with top talent and Tennessee has to work to the end just to get who we get. Almost doesn't seem fair.

As long as we get who we want/need. It will all work out my fellow Vol, it will all work out.:good!:

It "feels" like we are losing momentum because its a dead period right now and we cant contact recruits until jan 2 or 4th...cant remember. We are dropping in rankings because of 2 academic casualties, a 3 star 355lb lineman thst blew up to 385lbs and only other offer was from south florida, and a 3 star TE that was only offered becausw of a teammate. Once we can contact recruits again you will "feel" the momentum swing in our favor and when we land a top 3 class you can stop worrying
