Vols remain #7 in AP

Going strictly by the AP Poll, the initial CFP would look like this:

#1 Oregon (B10)
#2 UGa (SEC)
#3 Miami (ACC)
#4 BYU (B12)
#5 Ohio St
#6 Texas
#7 Penn St
#8 Tennessee
#9 Indiana
#10 Notre Dame
#11 Bama
#12 Boise St (Mtn W)

B10 - 4 (Ore, OSU, PSU, Ind)
SEC - 4 (UGa, Tex, Vols, Bama)
ACC - 1 (Miami)
B12 - 1 (BYU)
Ind - 1 (ND)
G5 - 1 Boise St

In that scenario, the Vols would host Indiana in Neyland Stadium in round 1, then face Oregon in the Rose Bowl in round 2.

I could live with that.

But lotta things still going to move around before it goes final.

Go Vols!
That would be about the way it breaks down imo at the end. They will have SEC play each other otherwise it’s another mostly SEC finals.

And this is probably the last team on Bama's schedule that can beat them. Go Tigers!
For playoff purposes UT absolutely needs a 3 loss Bama team. The only thing that would change that is if UT beats Georgia but if we do that then none of this really matters because 1 loss is 1 loss

In spite of that very oddly chosen stance, Florida is 4-4, unranked and 12th in the SEC and they still have to play TX, LSU and Ole Miss so most likely a 5-7 football team who will almost certainly lose their head coach and not go to a bowl.
The point was as "bad" as they are, they're capable of knocking off any of them

I do too but looking at BYU's schedule they will more than likely finish 12-0 and win the conference to be 13-0.

Indiana plays at OSU on 11/23. That will tell the tale either way. IU has not yet played any team ranked in the top 25.
I hate OSU but I hope they wax Indiana. I’m tired of these Cinderella’s crying about disrespect as if we all didn’t watch Cincinnati and TCU get their butts kicked in the playoffs. They’re no different. I want to watch good football, not another clubbing.

If OSU wins out the Big 10 will probably have 4 in. PSU and IU have easy schedules and will both probably be 11-1 and not be in the championship game. The question will then be if OSU loses to Oregon again will they be left out at 10-2 over 2 teams they beat that are 11-1. UT pretty much has to win out to make it. Though Clemson, Pitt, Iowa St. and A&M losing helps their situation, the ACC only getting 1 in will help also.

I loathe tOSU and their fanbase but those here who think we'd beat them are not looking at the reality.

Their Defense is as legit as our Defense.

How do you think our offense would do against our Defense? Yeah, I don't want to think about that.

tOSU would be a genuine load to move on Defense.

The only reason to want Bama to win next week is so LSU will have that second loss in the conference race.

No we don't! We need Volnation to say "Go Vols" - win all the games because if we do that, Bama doesn't matter at all.
It’s also a quality win for us. So when the committee is looking at resumes we can have a win versus a top 10-15 opponent that carries the weight that the name Alabama does. You know if by chance we don’t go to Athens and beat the team that has won every game it’s played in the last 4 years, other than Bama,

FL is getting better. Napier getting fired would be a mistake by FL athletic department, but probably good for the rest of the conference if they start from scratch again. If they had a QB this week, I could see them taking down TX

I liked their chances against LSU in the swamp with Lagway. Still might beat them without him.

For that matter, I’d like Michigan to beat them Saturday.

Penn ranked one spot ahead of the Vols is pure arrogance.

Not like Tennessee has given rankings a reason for us to shoot up them. we are treading water with these wins. However, we continue to win, we will be in the top 12.

Like had we beaten Florida in same fashion as Kentucky or even Oklahoma, we would prolly be Top 5.
