Is this a fact or you guessing?
Fact. sort of.
Barnhill technically pitched a scoreless 5th inning so that the game would end due to the run rule.
But, the starter who went 4 innings and gave up the runs was not Ocasio, Gourley or Barnhill.
Counting tonight, that trio has given up 25 earned runs in 296 innings.
It's not just Barnhill. The other two just give the opposition hope.
I'll take bets it is called in Oklahoma City
If you don't call it all year, how can you justify calling it at the end of the season. I've looked at slow-motion video of her delivery. She replants a lot. There is a reason she is good, and replanting is a big part of it. Naturally, no reporters asked Ralph about this during the week. Weak.

Ralph should have played Holcomb. Might not have made much difference but get a smaller strike zone in the lineup--maybe she walks, maybe gets the bat on the ball, and some speed. Did not see the game. Did anyone besides Vines even look halfway composed at the plate? Did either McSwain or McLain hit the ball? You now it's a bad night when Leach is 0-3. I'll bet that hasn't happened 4 times all year.
It would not matter if they ask or not, Ralph unlike Walton will take the high road. Bottom line is they are better than us and we will be lucky to get one. JMHO!
True,Shortstop, tonight we saw a lot of swinging at air,as others have noted. Our Ladies were awed by reputation even before getting in the box. As to Barnhill replanting, she does it sideways about a foot from where she started on the rubber, thus giving hitters a different angle pitch. But,as long as it's not called,it's her advantage. And as a hitter, the different angle makes a big difference. Her pitches didn't seem to move much, except the rise ball and we certainly helped by swinging at a lot of head high pitches. Make this a learning experience and go hard tomorrow.
Right and the new plant is closer to the plate and the angle is more profound. Her speed all night was not any more than Mattys but we looked overmatched.

I noticed this about Barnhill's delivery while watching a video of her on the softball site. When she replants her right foot, it is forward and to the left of where it starts on or near the rubber, and so she is whipping the ball with inside-out action--coming in hard on right-handers and away from left-handers. So it's really a double advantage--gaining leverage closer to the plate and coming in from an off angle. This is why she is so hard to hit.
Agree. Was it 2013 that the same kind of thing happened...FL pitcher went all year crow hopping without a call. Got to World Series and had 11 illegal pitches called in one game. Had to pull her. At least that's my memory, but it's foggy.
Anyone recall this?
