War in Ukraine

Been at the hospital since 2am with my dad having covid. To keep from going insane been checking Twitter couple of points:

* Ukrainian military units are canceling leave and recalling any that is currently on leave.

* Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council will close Ukrainian airports starting 14th

* Ukrainian parliament will have an emergency meeting to potentially declare martial law soon.

Also my family could really use some prayers. They’re life flighting my dad from here in West TN to Vanderbilt.

It literally had nothing to do with finding a new president. They were discussing helping Ukrainian opposition parties reach a deal in the Ukrainian parliament. You can see it as unnecessary meddling, but there's no indication the USA or anybody created the opposition to Yanukovych in the first place. It's incredibly obvious when pro Russian parties got clobbered in the next election.
And yet Yatseniuk, Victoria Nuland's pick to lead the opposition, miraculously ended up being the prime minister after the Maidan. Coincidence.

Well they need to either **** or get off the pot. These incessant rumors of impending war are becoming tedious.

Anyways, haven't you argued for American intervention in the event of Russia invading ukraine?

No. Nobody should be cheering for war.

As for intervention, no American boots on the ground. Other types of support, yes.

I love how you all try to make the distinction (or try to justify) sending arms but not sending troops.

Huge difference. I mean come on man. If my son goes to Ukraine and dies, he's gone forever. If my M4 goes to Ukraine and gets blown up, we send another one.

If you think your son's life is worth risking over Ukraine, let's hear it.

I understand that. I'm more looking at it from a participation and guilt stand point.

You will have just as much blame and blood on your hands if you put boots on the ground or send arms in... or for that matter, if you do long range/targeted missile strikes.

I don't know the truth of what's going on.

But I remember just weeks ago when the media around the world was blowing up with how dangerous and horrible omicron was, and how a winter of death was upon us, and how people at the point of outbreak had incentive to lie, all the while the people at the original source of the illness were telling us that the variant was weaker (and that has proven true). The media is not our friend and always should be questioned.

And that is all I'm saying. Don't take the narrative on face value... esp. coming from the US military, US alphabet agencies or US media. Be just as cynical about them as you would be Pravda, Al Jazeera or the CCP.

And how quick we are to forget the media's handiwork in the Iraq war.

His point wasn't that you should risk your son's life. His point was you shouldn't send weapons to risk Russian soldiers lives.

They were clearly discussing the leading figures.

I think Yats is the guy who's got the economic experience, the governing experience. He's the... what he needs is Klitsch and Tyahnybok on the outside.

If this was just an innocent meeting before The Maidan, then why is she concerned about "Yats" and his "governing experience"?
