War in Ukraine

Warning: Propaganda alert

Ukraine Ally Says Russian Attack Now Highly Unlikely | ZeroHedge

“During the escalation in the spring of 2021, 220,000 Russian soldiers and equipment were concentrated around Ukraine’s borders – theoretically enough for a major attack,” he explained.

“Now Russia has 123,000 troops, which is almost half the number, at the Ukrainian frontier.”

“From a military point of view, as they have explained to us, a full-scale attack is impossible…Our intelligence does not see signs that the Russians are directly preparing,” he added.

Much to the chagrin of the deep state, the Kremlin now appears to have been proven right in insisting that their rhetoric about a Russian invasion was mere “hysteria.”

But even making that observation will probably now elicit charges that you’re on the Kremlin payroll, with the regime angry at Zero Hedge for merely publishing articles written by independent experts who aren’t NATO cheerleaders.

When the Russians fully pull back and there is physical proof of such a withdrawal I will believe it. Until that happens this is just Russian maskirovka.

I also leave this here too:

In any case, calling it hysteria is ridiculous. They built up an enormous number of troops on the border of a country they invaded 8 years ago and in which they clearly still have territorial ambitions.

US Official: Russia Adds 7K More Troops Near Ukraine Border

Ukrainians defied pressure from Moscow with a national show of flag-waving unity Wednesday, while the U.S. warned that Russia had added as many as 7,000 troops near Ukraine’s borders despite Kremlin declarations that forces were being pulled back from the region.

While a feared Russian invasion of Ukraine did not materialize as feared, the United States and its allies maintained that the threat is still strong, with Europe’s security and economic stability in the balance.

So we are asked to believe a "US official" or a member of the Ukrainian parliament. One says Russian invasion is still imminent, while the other says nothing is happening.

I gotta say...bizarre. Whole thing just seems off. We dont know a fraction and I am not willing to concede that it is some vague Putin territorial ambition that will result in so much of spilled Russian blood and treasure. Russian ethnicity in Ukraine is what about 15%. Crimea was totally different. Just does not make sense, but authoritarians never do.

If its going to happen, it will be in the next 4 weeks or so. Can run tanks through the mud so easily. I do not trust reports of pull back though. Could be multiple feints before the surge. Will be a lot of bribing behind the scenes so that whole military resistance collapses in first 24 hours of attack.

The administration is consistently pushing the narrative that an invasion is imminent. Someone is feeding these Twitter idiots goofy specific times for the attacks. You would think they’d learned from four years of getting burned on their “Trump definitely did something awful” leaks but apparently not. The markets take a breather when nothing happens but Biden/Psaki/Blinken are quick to get back on the podium to tell us the end is near.

The question was what would you do differently in this situation? If you're going to sh*t on him, af least go on record as to what you want to see him do?

Monday morning quarterbacks...

isn't implied that he thinks Team Biden shouldn't be leaking info and directly a pushing war is imminent narrative? that's a recommendation to do something differently

And what if nothing happens in 4 weeks? We're already seeing the spin being thrown around now about the February 16th invasion rumor being debunked. So what will the talking points be at the end of March?

So no war?
I would be cool with that. But will the same people spreading the war fear porn right now come back and admit their information was flawed or bogus? Will they begin to question the entire narrative in Ukraine since 2013? Or will they say that Biden and NATO looked Putin dead in his eye and Putin decided to blink and cut tail and run from any Ukraine ambitions?

Or maybe Putin got what he wanted and this called it off. There are a myriad of reasons why and how this plays out. At the end of the day it all falls at the feet of Putin.

Worth noting lots of rumors of Ukrainian shelling in the LNR and its starting to get picked up by pro-Russian outlets very quickly.

Lots of strange things popping off. Pro-separatist media accounts along with Russian media are saying lots of shelling is going on. In Kyiv there is a group of people forming on Maidan with signs saying, “Save the ATO zone” which is a former name of the conflict zone.
