I don't like deficit spending either but of all of the pork this country wastes money on, dragging Russia back 100 years is money I can actually get behind. I'm certainly not going to stagger around like Fred Sanford like this money was somehow fungible and sacred and will deprive American Vets of homes or cause roads not be repaved.

Wish there was more oversight but given the PPP cash alone that was squandered I'm beyond hoping that the federal stewards of our tax dollars will do the right thing.

So if the Europeans admit Ukraine in the EU then it’s on them to rebuild their trading partner not us. Yeah we both know they will press us to kick into the pot and if they grease the right hands they’ll likely succeed.

This isn’t Japan in WWII we don’t have to pay to beat them AND rebuild them. Rebuilding is absolutely a European issue.

We haven't released the numbers. But I am aware what is being withheld by us and our ally's. This isn't hard. But by all means keep biatching and screaming.

Or let's say it's zero. And we cut budgets to make it work. All good with that too man. So yes I am consistent. Cut the spending down to match exactly what we will take in. And then cut them more to help Ukraine. Any other questions from you Mr. Chamberlain?

I look at Ukraine just like I do France during WW2, and you know how that worked out don't you? Let me fast forward a bit and show you when China invades Taiwan. We don't make our own pharmaceuticals, our own IC chips and suddendly we're F'ed. Join the regime comrade.

If the West doesn’t step up and work to block Russia from over running Ukraine then China moving on Taiwan is a foregone conclusion I think. In recent years I was convinced we were going to wind up in a shooting war with China within my lifetime. After this, if the West unites and absolutely destroys Russia economically even if Russia manages to take a big bite out of Ukraine, I’m actually hopeful that confrontation that I think is inevitable is now delayed. And Russia becoming a footnote in history books is just a free bonus in that scenario.

How'd WW2 work out? I'd say our involvement and help kept Mussolini and Hitler from conquering Europe.

Until you deficit hawks can tell one the actual cost/benefit ratio then otherwise, never ever complain about the deficit again.
And for moralistic terms, which I agree in principle, then we can play this game all day long with any agenda.

Do people not realize that seizing assets, whether they are govt or private, shakes the confidence in people wanting to invest in The West or in the Western financial system? People are going to naturally think in the back of their minds that if they don't toe the line, that the West can just seize their assets. Why risk that happening when Russia, India and China are moving towards an alternative system?

We are sitting by and watching the world to go to crap. Biden is a disaster and his minions turning our military into woke gay accepting **** isn't exactly promoting a strong US. If you guys thinks it is, stand by and watch your standard of living go down and be happy about it.

Believe it or not you and I are not far off here. We are absolutely spending too much here. But it’s our usual wasteful sledge hammer on a finishing nail approach.

I wonder if we had armed Ukraine to the teeth in 2014 if this could have been averted. But Europe was just as feckless in that regard also.

Anybody genuinely outraged at the spending isn’t wrong as far as I’m concerned. “Genuinely” is the key here. Let’s be honest the most vocal protestors in here are no such thing.

If you could list all of the things that this government will squander money on this year, using it to grind Russia army and economy wouldn't be anywhere near the top.

On a side note - this is what you've been reduced to. Trying to pretend you care about the spending deficit while trying to sell us on Putin's "special humanitarian outreach operation" to the oppressed people of the Donbas while sprinkling in something about Nazi's.
