I was just talking about trust in general, if NATO says they won't attack would you believe them?
Absolutely. Article 5 has only been invoked once, as you mentioned, in 2001. NATO has made it clear they won’t get involved in the war unless it’s own territory is attacked.

NATO countries were involved in both Iraq invasions and I don't recall Iraq attacking a NATO country.

So here it is gang in black and white.

All the bullsh*t excuses for war pushed aside for the naked ass truth.

Anyone here who - given these truths - continues to whataboutism Russia with rationale to invade Ukraine... well... you're soul is simply lost.

Russia is now a world leader in VPN use
Second only to India, Russia is now one of the world’s biggest users of VPN (Virtual Private Network) services (technology essential for circumventing Internet censorship). Statistics collected by AppMagic, as reported by RBC, show that VPN services were downloaded to mobile devices in Russia more than 12 million times in the first three weeks of July. In January 2022, before the militarization of censorship laws, Russians downloaded VPN apps just 2 million times, ranking 16th in the world.

A judge in Barnaul fined a local philosophy teacher 30,000 rubles (about $500) for reactions to two posts on the social network Odnoklassniki: a “frowny face” response to news about someone being fined for “discrediting” the Russian military, and a “cool!” response to a post with an antiwar message. Alexey Argunov was convicted of the misdemeanor offense of “discrediting” Russia’s army for sharing these reactions online. (Police officers who pursued the case utilized the fact that Odnoklassniki publishes dedicated lists showing every user’s emoji reactions.)

Meanwhile... in Germany and the UK...

It has everything to do with Ukraine. It shows we have selective outrage when it comes to certain countries (Russia, Iran, China), but allow other countries to bypass these same restrictions (US, UK, Israel, KSA).

I agree about selective outrage, and agree that we stick our noses where they don't belong from time to time also. Ukraine isnt that though.

Also, everyone is selective sometimes. Uk, israel are the countries most loyal to us on earth. They are family.

Your brother gets mad at your sister and calls her a whore? No big deal....theyre family.

Dude from the neighborhood calls your sister a whore? Gets his fronts knocked out . Not family.

Btw...israel is gonna make Iran a smoking hole in the ground soon because they keep enriching uranium in underground centrifuges buried under concrete. Israel will NOT let their next door neighbor who openly calls for the complete destruction of israel obtain nuclear weapons. Will not under ANY circumstances. I completely support their actions...and am all for parking a carrier battle group in the persian gulf ready to toss tomahawks like they were milk duds on a moments notice. We dont need to make a no-fly zone. Israel will do that all by their selves.

So to be clear, it is perfectly reasonable for Israel to take measures to address their security concerns, but Russia simply asking NATO to not move east and jeopardize Russia's security concerns, that is unreasonable? Same for China with regards to their sphere of influence in east Asia. Again. Only Israel, The US, KSA and UK get to protect their security concerns, but no other countries on the planet get those privileges.

You can add Turkey to the list since they actually occupy territory in 2 sovereign nations.
