War in Ukraine

I doubt they would have held on to Hawaii. And truth be told, what incentive would they have had to attack Hawaii outside of the oil embargo? In 1940/1941, Japan would have had all of their energy and resources tied up in China and East Asia. That would have been more than enough to keep them occupied.

Let me get this right, we should have kept supplying the Japanese war machine with oil to avoid the attack on Pearl Harbor? Am I reading you right here? You also say that the couldn't have held on to Hawaii. Why? Who would have pushed them out besides the U.S. Military?

They would have had no reason to attack Pearl Harbor had it not been for the oil embargo. I don't know how much clearer I can make it. Their main focus in 1940/1941 was mainland China and East Asia. Diplomacy and long supply lines to Hawaii would have been/should have been working in our favor.

Look at what resulted after we defeated Japan? Mao took over China and the rest is history.Should have just let Japan get bogged down in mainland China for a decade or so.

There's a lot of speculation into what might have happened in your post. Bottom line is that we were not required to supply Imperial Japan with oil, and they killed a lot of Americans at Pearl Harbor without the U.S. military attacking them first. They paid for it though by getting their soldiers roasted out of bunkers with flame throwers, and their aircraft carriers sent to the bottom of the ocean. No sympathy for the Imperialist robots.

There is plenty of speculation in your post. But what we do know is that the reason why Japan attacked us/Pearl Harbor is because of the oil embargo. Had that not happened, December 7th would not have happened. Facts.

You damn well know that an embargo or blockade is an act of war. Israel used the blockade of the Straits of Tiran as casus belli, and I don't see any of you guys criticize that. But oh... US/UK/Israel are the good guys, right?

More Ukraine football news... good thing a governing body is there to put a stop to this.

UEFA to launch disciplinary probe over 'Putin' chants at Dynamo Kyiv soccer match in Turkey

Buyalskyi's celebration after scoring was met with chants of "Vladimir Putin" by many Fenerbahce fans, prompting an online backlash condemning the Istanbul side's fans and calling on European governing body UEFA to take action against the club.

So fans can't make chants now at sporting events if it hurts Ukrainian va-jayjay?

I don't know about that. Hitler didn't ban Jesse Owen's from 1936 Berlin Olympics, but Wimbledon sure did do a number this year on Russians. Plus, most of you guys would rather see the people in Donbas suffer under a govt they don't agree with rather than allowing them to live free in lands that they have lived in for generations.
What kind of clown post is this? The Germany Olympic team certainly discriminated. And your argument to demonstrate Russians are being persecuted relies on Hitler not banning other countries’ athletes?

Also, are we pretending Germany wasn’t banned from any international competitions after World War II?

Why are you guys so against self-determination and independence movements? South Ossetia and Abkhazia do not want to part of Georgia anymore than Donbas wants to be a part of Ukraine... especially after 2008 in Georgia and 2014 in Ukraine.
I wonder what changed around those dates. Maybe Russian troops occupying the territory in question.

Jesse Owens was a full participant. Wimbledon < 1936 Berlin Olympics

By the way. I've posted some scholarly articles in this forum with proper citations and data to back up my point. However if it does not line up with someone's personal beliefs then they will never accept it. What Dallas is accusing Ras of, him and other people have done the exact same thing.
What zero hedge? That literally just requote someone else, makes up some point with vague ties to something they took from the other article.

I havent seen anything getting any where close to scholarly from either side in this entire thread.

An embargo doesnt explain attacking hawaii. What does attacking Hawaii do to fix the embargo? They also attacked the American base in the Phillipnes on the 7th (8th local time). It was a preemptive strike. The embargo wasnt a blockade. What did our navy have to do with the embargo?

They wanted our territory.

When have I shared Zero Hedge? And even if I might have once or twice so what. They are still a lot more accurate than mainstream news outlets.

You know Mao was defeated right? The nationalist Chinese had just won a second war against him, and chased him over half the country. The only reason he didnt get wiped out was because the Japanese invaded. And that is also how Mao took over, the nationalist were so beat up from fighting the Japanese while Mao hid and built up strength that he was able to win after WWII was over.

Talk about presenting slanted history.

The japanese also attacked Guam and Wake shortly after the attacks on Pearl Harbor and the Phillipines. They were looking for a fight and wanted us out of it fast. The Japanese also attacked Alaska in mid 1942 so your bs about focusing SE Asia is even more wrong.
