My brother was greatly affected by his SE Asia time. Combat will do that I guess. He wasn’t messed up he was as “normal” as ever. But he viewed life after Vietnam completely differently.

Nah, I'm pretty mellow these days, I did moon my Alabama fan neighbor last year after the game though.

Yeah, I was 11B and served with the 4th ID in the Central Highlands. I'm glad your brother came out OK. I think I came out pretty normal but it's never completely out of mind. I think about it nearly every day.

I was there in 68-69. We were in the Kontum Provence around Pleiku and Kontum City and most of our activity was focused on
the Ho Chi Minh Trail

He would have been late 60’s or 70 ish when he was there also. Makes me wonder if you guys might have crossed trails at some point. Small world.

It's quite possible I was in Alpha Company 3rd Battalion 8th Infantry.

I don’t remember his unit I don’t know that I ever knew his. My dad was also 4th ID in WW2. I company 12th infantry

I've always been in awe of those WWII guys. My wife's father was a gunner on B24 Liberators and flew missions in Italy and Germany. He made it back OK and died of covid during the first wave in '20

There’s no hypocrisy on my part. I’m on record as being against US military interventionism. I said early in this thread that the US should let Europe solve this issue. What you won’t see me do, as you have done repeatedly, is justify Russia’s bad behavior by pointing out America’s bad behavior.

True. As you and I have said for months, if the Russian people turn on Putin it will be because he hasnt taken this military operation seriously enough. Hearing rumors Russia may do some sort of mobilization in the next 30 days. They should have done so from the start.
