What you're glossing over here is I've stated ITT that the US and Russia both are more responsible for death and suffering around the world than any other nations on Earth. The Soviet Union was (key word is "was", past tense) one of the most dangerous countries on the planet... but in particular to it's own citizens. The United States, on the other hand, is (present tense) the present day terror state. Now granted, the US is not killing millions industrially as the USSR or Maoist China, but we do our fair share of destruction and control with regards to our empire.

Russia and by extension the Soviets and the current Chinese aren't and never have helped out foreign countries for altruistic purposes; it's always been to grab resources, grab geography for strategic purposes. or to foment disorder and revolution in the hope that the rest of the world will have to sink resources there to minimize bloodshed. Sino/Soviet "anti colonialism" is simply reverse enslavement - just a different proprietor, and "wars of liberation" are just a lie.

Although there could have been hyper sonic used, its looked like from video that they were cruise missiles, of course, some were fairly long range.

The purpose was to take out infrastructure and some of it was decent range, so it probably did cost a few bones. Its war, no reason to save it.

What Russia has to do is keep hitting the infrastructure, as you have to keep hitting as they rebuild. I would just take out the whole grid nation wide but that is just me. He might later regard not just taking the whole grid down from the start and send them back to the Dark Ages. I would have. People don't do well without electricity and food.

Putin in a lot of ways really seems to be idealistic and naive. He gave diplomacy a chance for the 8 years leading up to February 24th and still leaves the door cracked open 7 months later. But at some point, he's going to have to realize that the other side is not interested in negotiating in good faith.

His party has roughly 80% of the seats in the Russian parliament and is the party that is obviously preferred by the majority of Russian citizens. If Putin is somehow replaced it will more than likely be by someone else from the United Russia party. That was the point being made.
