War in Ukraine

Surovikin doesn't sound optimistic about Kherson.

???
Ssounds like he is just giving an honest evaluation of the situation. The Kyiv regime is desperate and will resort to anything at this point... including another terror attack or false flag. Kherson is their last stand before the midterms. Biden and the gang need something to show to justify our continued involvement.

Wow! "Peace" with a gun pointed at your head and your land stolen is better than a fight? I'm sure glad most people don't think that way; despotism would reign around the globe. Rocket Man should just move south and S Koreans should just hand it over, be peaceful, and avoid a slaughter?
Relax, killer. At the end of the day, those lands have been Russian/Soviet far longer than there has ever been a Ukraine.

Didn't Ukraine announce another upcoming mobilization as well?

Maybe when belligerents quit trying to steal land at the point of a gun. Most of us learned early on that you leave people alone and they don't hold a grudge against you. Pootin signed an agreement and tried to manufacture a reason (with lies and terrorism) to void it; when that didn't work, he resorted to total force.
Now what the hell are you talking about? Are you talking about Minsk? Putin didn't void it. The West avoided it. Germany and France were consignataries of the agreement and didn't bother in 8 years to make sure that Ukraine abided by the ceasefire agreements. Instead, they drug this out for 8 years so that they could build a NATO armed and trained army right on Russia's border.

Yep and a good portion of that NATO armed and trained army has now been destroyed.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. The word is that the White House is pushing 3elensky to get something going and capture Kherson before midterms.

So, this would be their last gasp for a couple of months until the next mobilization comes in? Seems if this last gasp fails, not much stands between Russia's newly mobilized forces and Odesa.

Also, the toll this will take on Ukraine will be extremely high. As I said earlier, Ukraine has already paid a heavy price around Kherson for not much gain.

This looks like it matches what Google Earth shows as the Russia/Ukraine border ... the one Russian troops are on the wrong side of.

Your attempts to troll would be more enjoyable if the real world implications were not so dire. This isn't a football game where everyone goes home alive. Ukraine is basically throwing their men into a meat grinder to appease the West. Sure, they are killing some Russians on their way out, which I know weirdly excites many of you, but in doing so they are losing 4 or 5 Ukrainians for each Russian they take out.

All trolling aside (if you can), would a negotiated peace where Ukraine gives up some land not be preferable to this?
The meat grinder appears to be consuming a steady diet of Russian orc right now.

And on the bolded that’s not up to me, you stooges, or anybody else except Ukraine. As long as they want to kill invading orcs and drive them from their lands then let’s make sure they have the tools to do it.

I can tell you that if we were invaded and offered a deal to give up territory in exchange for peace I would give them a big FU!

So the US went into Kosovo unilaterally and invaded to carve out land for themselves?
Pat Buchanan on Kosovo

Balkan policy is a neo-imperialist failure
NATO, a defensive alliance, launched an offensive war against a nation that threatened no member of that alliance, dissipating its moral authority. Serbia is smashed. Montenegro and Macedonia are destabilized. Kosovo was purged first of Albanians, then of Serbs. And lies in ruins. US relations with China and Russia have been damaged. For what? So we and NATO could police in perpetuity a Balkan province that has not the remotest connection to US vital interests. Such are the fruits of neo-imperialism.
That's funny... a "defensive" alliance. And he had it right 20 years ago. Policing there in perpetuity.

Balkans: Let Europe police their own backyard
The Balkan wars that followed the breakup of Yugoslavia have lasted for nearly a decade, but until we attacked Belgrade in 1999, America remained unaffected. We have no vital interest in that blood-soaked peninsula to justify a permanent military presence. The Balkans are not our backyard; they are Europe’s backyard, and responsibility for policing the peninsula belongs to them, not us.

Common sense. Let Europe deal with this. We have our own issues on our own border.

Once you give your lunch money to the bully he’s going to come back every time he needs more.
Oh stop it. This isn't anything like a school yard bully. Russia and Ukraine had relatively good relations until the Obama State Department came in to disrupt things in 2013. The US has managed to get two closely related Slavic peoples to fight one anther just for the US to gain some hegemonic end game.

LMAO what a load of 💩 the US caused Pootin to invade Ukraine.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Russia and Ukraine are done Moe. And the west is arming Ukraine to drive all their asses back to Russia. And once this is over and Ukraine joins NATO Russia won’t ever again get the chance to expand west without all of Europe raining directly down on them

I know what you are selling, I'm just not buying. It's a good thing you aren't in charge of our country’s foreign policy. You are safest when you post on here 62,000 times. Keep up the good work.

And we know that closely related peoples always get along, like the Hatfields and McCoys, the Montagues and Capulets, the Indians and Pakistanis, the Israelis and Palestinians, etc etc.
