War in Ukraine

Nor have I seen you condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine.......... Hello pot!
It's an unfortunate set of circumstances that was created by NATO and the US. But condemn is a stretch too far. They spent 8 years trying to get a peaceful and diplomatic solution while the Kyiv regime was killing civilians and shelling in Donbas.

They spent 8 years funding, training and otherwise sponsoring the rebels while feigning diplomacy. They wanted the unrest because they thought it would spread and they could get Ukraine under thumb again.

You have a lot of nerve to say that when Poroshenko openly admitted that Minsk agreements were not abided by because they needed to buy time to build a NATO army.

Minsk deal was used to buy time – Ukraine’s Poroshenko

As your friend so eloquently put it in another response that's a very unfortunate series of circumstances that Russia brought on be meddling in it's neighbors affairs.
No, they were engaged in terrorism. That is not an unfortunate set of events. That is deliberate.

Russia was invited to Syria... The US was not.

And I'm sure there may be a few anecdotal difficulties or delays, but I think you may be blowing it a bit out of proportion. Where are you getting your info about these difficulties?

So Russia is invited by a dictator who had been conducting chemical warfare against his own people - a man (giving great latitude on the species) who is basically recognized as a war criminal - invites a bunch of thugs in to help him maintain control; and that's just alright with you because he's the "leader". Have you ever thought it a bit strange that the only people asking for Russian (or Soviet in the past) help are dictators or those who want to become dictators, and they generally have genocidal tendencies?

And none of them had a post from you in them.
I did post in Syria threads. Specifically I lamented Obama drawing a line in the sand and never following through. I said it made America appear weak and incompetent but it was the right move. The comment (Obama's) should have never been made.

Neither Russia nor America was right. But Russia backed a regime that treated a large portion of it's people with indifference while catering to the minority. That was the reason his people rose up against him. America backed the people who had no where else to turn. When America didn't follow through with enough help and Assad emptied the prisons and released the religious zealots things went very south.

Had Russia not intervened a piss poor leader would have fallen...... Who knows if it would have gotten better or not.

Stop it. That isn't true and you know it.

Because you can't cause the conflict while claiming you are attempting to stop it. Russias claim is that it was protecting Russians in a military conflict they were sponsoring. The interest wasn't protecting Russians.

Time out; that's a common time honored, liberal strategy that they borrowed from the commies. If there's one thing the left has learned from the Russians/Soviets and perfected, it's inventing or at the very least escalating a problem and then pretending to solve it. Their way to power is "we break it so we can fix it, and we are the only people with the answer." Well, come to think of it there's the other thing about who counts the votes.

At this point I don't think the Republicans are much better in this respect.

Had Russia not intervened, ISIS would have regime changed Syria.
ISIS came to power in Syria because Russia propped up a leader whose people wouldn't have him. Russia helped in a limited capacity as did other entities and nations for the Free Syrian Army. Neither side could achieve total victory. When Assad opened the prisons to free the religious zealots and they called upon ISiS to help is when it went south. It happened because the Russia propped up a lame leader the people rejected in Assad.

I believe in the past many were known as Ruthenian. Which are considered the ancestors of Ukrainians and Belarusians. Which is why I've said before they are more closely related than Ukrainians and Russians are. I believe you had races such as the Cossacks and you had the area in pretty much the far western part of Ukraine which used to be part of Austria Galicia.

So we're back to tribal witchcraft as the historical basis for nations. This is gonna be some fun stuff. Do the Romans get to play? Arawaks, Caribs, Cherokee, Mayans, Aztecs, Mongols, Huns ...? We could play this stuff for weeks. Don't forget colonialism - that should add another neat twist to who was on first ... the second time around or whatever. You could just slice and dice and pick any time period for who should own what.

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin was a punk bitch.

Just another pathetic self-deluded Russian "mystic" who thought his sh*t didn't stink.

Glad he was murdered by yet another dumb ass Russian. Shot dead in the head.

His contributions to our planet amounted to absolutely nil.

Russian culture is a disease.

In his defense, Rasputin did spawn a fun song by Boney M.

Calm down. I was just giving a little bit of history of that area.

So you are okay with civilians being killed by Ukraine in the Donbas region?

And of course you also completely ignore the U.S. meddling in the affairs of a country who is not it's neighbor.

ISIS isn't Russia's fault. That is just an outright lie. I'm done talking with you now.
