We are in a tough predicament and a world of hurt on choices at this point.

There are two things that invite war (1) the lack of diplomacy and (2) a show of weakness.

I've often stated these spineless cretins in Washington invited this war. Now that we have it, it's a choice between two miscreant sides and a potential impact on on other staunch enemies. We have to support Ukraine due to the message it sends not supporting them. Though look now further than the losers in the bureaucracy and the Biden Administration who helped lay the groundwork.

Their Su-25s actually aren't bad aircraft (which is what I assume you're referring to), but they have limited effectiveness when you don't control the airspace, hence their struggles.

Your two scenarios are not mutually exclusive of one another. Poor diplomacy is a result of weak leadership (or corrupt leadership).
