War in Ukraine

You would think these Ukrainiacs would already know this information. There is a separate MOS for the Stryker Maintainer and its 17 weeks. And this doesn't include anything that is necessary to learn as on the job training. Plus the ASVAB scores required to get into the two fields as a mechanic are quite high.
You still don’t seem to understand the point I was making earlier. The MOS training of 17 weeks is for a pimply-faced teenager who hadn’t put wrenches on anything more complicated than a skateboard. Ukraine had existing armor units with, presumably, experienced crews. The time to achieve proficiency in maintenance and operational skills shouldn’t take as long given they’re being instructed by already experienced personnel.

If (there’s that word again) that isn’t the case, then neither the Bradley’s nor the Strykers will be effective on the battlefield.

You obviously have never served in the military. The Stryker Systems Maintainer is a separate MOS. The U.S. Army has determined if someone works on these vehicles and selects that MOS then they have to go to school for at least 17 weeks for training. If they try and train anyone else in less time than that then it will be a disaster.

Also that MOS in particular requires a high mechanical aptitude score on the ASVAB. So if someone doesn't score the minimum required then they will not be able to choose that MOS. So Ukraine can't just take some low IQ Banderite off the street and just expect to train them for that job let alone operating the vehicles. This is also brand new equipment for them that they have no experience from my understanding operating or maintaining. So even their experienced personnel, I think it's safe to say, would train on it the same amount of time as our U.S. Army personnel as required by the U.S. Army.

Show me your DD214 and I’ll show you mine.

Maintenance isn’t going to be done by Ukraine. It’s going to be done in Poland or another border country just like they’ve already setup for the Soviet vehicle maintenance. And if it’s Poland then that depot won’t ever get a scratch 😎

There was an already information that Ukrainian troops are in Poland and even the US getting trained on operating their new toys. And those training venues won’t see a scratch either. Womp womp.

So you're saying if they are going to be using these Bradleys and Strykers in Eastern Ukraine and they need repairs then they are going to send them across the country and across the border in Poland to repair them? Yeah that makes a lot of sense lol.

They’re already doing it with the Russian built equipment, smooth brain. And at least one depot for Western equipment repair is either being setup or already operational🤡

Then you ought to know that the Army is going to send anyone who works on Bradleys and Strykers to the appropriate MOS school. Working on this equipment isn't something a soldier just learns in a few weeks. You ought to know better.

I had a friend of mine who when he reenlisted switched from a 3000 supply field to aviation supply in the Marine Corps. Since aviation supply was under the 6600 MOS field guess what happened. He had to go back to MOS school and retrain for his new career.

Not to mention if you eliminate the diversity training you could probably whittle that down to 2-3 weeks.

Ok, boomer.

First of all neither article mentions the Bradleys or Strykers which is what is being discussed here. Second. I bet it's a logistical nightmare trying to transport equipment all across Ukraine to another country to be repaired. You have any idea not how long the repairs would take plus the money it costs.

Second. The first link you sent said Berlin was expected to have 5,000 Ukrainian troops trained by next June. Therefore you just proved my point that it takes more than a few weeks to train on any new equipment they are unfamiliar with. Which was the original point of this discussion.

Would Russia have attacked if not for the Nuclear Agreement?
Seems to me the Fed FP savants get it wrong every single time..ala LG

There is a reason the Bradley mechanics have a 12 week school and the Stryker mechanics have a 17 week school. Plus anybody who has been in the military knows you don't learn everything in school. Plus from what I was looking at the ASVAB scores required to get into those fields alone are quite high.

And I am certain the schools required in order to operate, be a master gunner, or team leader for the Bradleys and Strykers are longer than just a few weeks.

This is why I ask you guys the questions I do. Because I know you all have more than often NOT done your proper research.

Plus no competent military would think it's okay just to train your personnel on new equipment like this in just a few weeks. These aren't like operating a Mitsubishi Mirage for goodness sake.

Who knows how long Ukrainians have been training on NATO hardware? I suspect they have some crews already trained to operate almost anything NATO has. The West is not setting on their hands. This war has always had the potential to get out of hand.

And if the Ukrainian crews were joining the US Army, you’d have a ****ing point.
Surely you would want them to have the same training the U.S. Army does. Right? If they don't it will likely be a disaster for the people trying to operate that equipment.

And I said as much in an earlier post, but you got hung up by my use of a “few” weeks. Clearly you’ve never spent a day in a military classroom. If you had, then you know there’s a lot of BS instruction that goes on that has nothing to do with the subject.

What I'm getting at is that the Bradleys and Strykers need their own mechanics. That is why there is a separate MOS school and MOS classification for both. And even after those schools it can take a few years or more for one to become an expert in that MOS field.

That I am aware of. They had us looking at documents on a microfiche machine my first few days in school. But I didn't go to a mechanical school and which is why I've mentioned to another poster that there is still more to learn after school.

But the same could be said about most 4 years degrees. They can be obtained in 2 to 3 years. Especially when you take out the courses that are irrelevant to the degree.

What about F-16's and other aircraft being proposed. Where are they getting maintained? This is becoming too much a non proxy war with NATO that I do not like at all.

First off the Bradley’s and Strykers weren’t in the mix till recently. These are already established for existing Russian equipment and prior given Western equipment

And second based on the complete 💩 show of Russian logistics in can understand his w you think it’s impossible however competent Western armies do this all the time.

What we proved is what we proved every time. You’re talking out your ass

Hey @MG1968 did you notice when you challenged him to post up DD214’s he deflected to his buddy’s service? 😂

The Ukrainian Air Force likely does not have the pilots for these F-16s and Warthogs that supposedly have been proposed.
