Ok so in other words Russia can be viewed as an undeniably heroic country in this war because of those flaws with Ukraine that can't just be removed with peaceful solutions.
Much like the USA getting involved in World War 2 was entirely justified because Japan decided to take advantage with that whole bombing at Pearl Harbor so that's creating a fire that can't be extinguished, also because the Nazis were a ruthless group that had a very realistic chance of conquering the World which they got very close to accomplishing.
