War in Ukraine

Jump to Biden & Co's defense, you're getting good at it. Maybe EL can share some of his tweets with you?

Call it what you will but they're lining their pockets off this war.
Lol I don’t have the Star Wars butt hurt meme handy and I’m in the car but you know the gist.

You and I agree on the inbred nature of big business and the Feds. Especially on the military and big pharma. But that doesn’t negate we have to stand by our commitments and use the correct terms in calling out the graft, ham sammich 😘

I don't have the ability to send the US to war. My posts would show I oppose it

And yet you are still profiting from any uptick in stock price or dividend increase that occurs from additional DoD funds being used to to purchase replacement weapons from the "MIC".

You’ve agreed that there is graft and kickbacks happening but your only issue is the label “money laundering”? WTF kind of partisan logic is that?

I said what has been described would be graft or a kickback, not 'money laundering'.

I never said that either were occuring, as I've not seen anyone produce evidence, or even an accusation that had any sort of substance.

What is this suppose to do? They have lots. Why are we feeding more men into a losing situation instead of negotiating peace?
Because either way they lose Rasp. They lose either way. If they negotiate they lose self determination and I'm positive they have zero faith any peace will last with a neighbor who has interfered with and funded/sponsored a rebel conflict to destabilize their elected government in the past.

If they fight there is a chance. They know what happens if they don't. It's that simple.

Couldn't have said it better. There are those that still would rather die on their feet fighting for their homeland, instead of being a slave.

The people of Ukraine are fighting for tomorrow, they'd rather die than return to the past. Regardless of your thoughts on the president you have to respect and admire their determination to fight.

Which is why I have no problem with our support here. These guys are fighting for every inch of their territory. Wish we had similar determination from our previous investments in South Vietnam, Afghanistan, or Iraq.

I sure do. Balls to stand as David did before Goliath, and deliver over and over again without retreat . Much respect.

Do i absolutely DESPISE that the party in power favors sending billions of $ to ukraine but refuses to secure our OWN borders here for a fraction of the cost,???. Burns me up.

So does the 2 party system, organized bribery called "lobbying", Big Pharma, the MIC, career politicians without term limits, and many other things....but i admire the people of Ukraine for standing toe to toe for their freedom. We need to see this through...but NO boots on the ground or American blood spilled. Ever.

There are worse things than holding a town for 6 months under constant pressure and having to successfully pull troops out to the next prepared defensive line.

What do you think taking Bakhmut will mean for the Russians? Is the line going to shift suddenly? Are the Russians going to have a break thru? Be able to launch some new offensive within a week to capitalize? Did they take a bunch of prisoners?

Holding for 6 months would certainly change any war imo. It was enough for the Finns to get a favorable peace treaty from the Winter War, even though they were next to broken.

The pocket in the Bakhmut front looked unhealthy; it's good the Ukraine is backing out of it ... even better if the whole place is wired to blow up in Russian faces. It also seemed that when you are in a stalemate, it might be better to pull troops and use them elsewhere and pound the entrenched opposition with artillery. Holding a line might make sense, but holding a pocket that might collapse around you just doesn't. History is full of meatgrinders like that; sometimes they came out OK and other times they didn't. Airpower isn't even a real factor here because neither side has air superiority; this was literally a page out of WW1.
