You don't tug on Superman's cape

Oh snap. A carrier battle group with anti air picket ships that lock up any Russian aircraft that even thinks about approaching one of our aircraft, manned or unmanned, going forward is going to put the bald dwarf in the corner as he works thru his tantrum.

He's got a point.

It's an incredibly bad argument to invoke the beginning of WW2 here.

1. We need to look further back at how Hitler came to power. A really bad peace treaty that saw a European power stripped of its land, military, and made to pay for the mess.
2. Putin isnt Hitler, Putin is the Kaiser. If we arent careful we will make the next Hitler with any coming peace treaty.
3. No one was able to stop Hitler in 1939, why do you think anyone would have been able to stop him earlier? France, Britain, and Russia spent 1936 to 1939 trying to catch up with Germany, and couldnt do it. That's why the French and British got tabled off the Eurolean landmass after a couple months. It's why Hitler was able to grab 1000s of miles of territory in Russia when he invaded after 2 more years of Russian build up. Europe was THAT far behind Germany. An earlier attack or diplomatic resolution on Hitler would have just created an even worse setting for the Allies. The best way to stop Hitler would have been to NOT create the setting that allowed him to come to power.

This isnt as analogous as people want it to be. This is WW1 where a regional conflict is about to turn into ironically named War to End All Wars, because of entangling alliances, and the powers that be wanting to strip other nations of their power. All of which lead to an even worse war shortly after.

Ukraine short of skilled troops and munitions as losses, pessimism grow

After a year of war, Kupol, a lieutenant colonel, said his battalion is unrecognizable. Of about 500 soldiers, roughly 100 were killed in action and another 400 wounded, leading to complete turnover. Kupol said he was the sole military professional in the battalion, and he described the struggle of leading a unit composed entirely of inexperienced troops.

“I get 100 new soldiers,” Kupol said. “They don’t give me any time to prepare them. They say, ‘Take them into the battle.’ They just drop everything and run. That’s it. Do you understand why? Because the soldier doesn’t shoot. I ask him why, and he says, ‘I’m afraid of the sound of the shot.’ And for some reason, he has never thrown a grenade. … We need NATO instructors in all our training centers, and our instructors need to be sent over there into the trenches. Because they failed in their task.
If the soldiers are running away without firing a shot how did he end up with a 100% casualty rate. Seems the desertions would impact that number. Are you really trying to argue that only the good ones stuck around to be wounded, while only terrible replacements are being provided?

I have to disagree with point 2. I definitely think the Hitler comparisons work better than comparisons to the Kaiser. It’s pretty clear to me that Putin looks at the collapse of the USSR with the same rage Hitler viewed the treaty of Versailles. Not just that, but also the ethno-nationalism, the exploitation of democracy to centralize power around himself, call backs to historical Russian heroes, etc.
