War in Ukraine

OK. So? The Patriot system that you yourself claim serves a dual purpose of defending against aircraft and missiles is being replaced with the single use missile defense system (Iron Dome).

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make other than you seem to want to point out the Iron Dome's limitations?

Nope, just making an observation about the design intents of two systems. Where you are inferring that the Patriot is inferior and is being replaced by a newer anti-missile system seems somewhere out in left field. New systems are being introduced in Ukraine on a fairly regular basis, and the introduction date seems to have little to do with one system being better than another ... more just the way deliveries can be approved made to happen.

BTW, I can't recall any weapon system being considered 100% reliable. If you target enough missiles or bombs at an air defense system, some will eventually get through especially if you keep up the incoming density. Also if you run out of missiles to fire, the battery is a sitting duck ... something like a spin on the misquoted "getting there the firstist with the mostest".

You mean the man funded and laundering money for every Western country leader?

As the Western coalition continues to ratchet up weapons support for Ukraine--long-range missiles, Abrams tanks coming, F16s coming, 8+ battalions training in combined arms, further tightening of sanctions, onging sabotage activities in the Donbas--Russia will come under steadily increasing pressure.

I wasn't suggesting (directly) that it was being replaced because it is inferior. I'm saying that since a Patriot system was damaged/destroyed a few days ago, The West is the one now looking to throw in the Iron Dome.

I say "directly" because we both know that neither the Iron Dome or Patriot systems are on the same level of the Russian S-400 or S-500. You might even be able to make the case that the leftover Soviet S-300s that Ukraine had performed better than the Patriot system.

Show me where I made such a claim.

The PAC-3 missile I’m pretty sure is tuned to the hypersonic ballistic missile intercept as we saw in the SCUD intercepts in 1991. And the Kinzhal is nothing more than a really fast SCUD. We took what we learned from the SCUD intercepts in 1991 with the PAC-2 and developed the PAC-3. As much as the bald dwarf wants it the Kinzhal is nowhere near the Chinese DF-ZF hypersonic glide vehicle level of weapon.

Oh and that 1970’s US technology seems to be able to counter the latest Russian junk pretty well 😂

Patriot PAC-3

Yep, Patriot is working well. Can you imagine the response if the "evil MIC" was turning out a different air defense system every 3-5 years and making the earlier ones obsolete? Or how inept they would be if 40 year old technology wasn't still getting the job done? Seems like some people will always find fault with what you do, but they will never blame the enemy that makes being prepared or staying ahead of the game necessary.

Show me where I made such a claim.

You didn't claim any systems were 100% reliable. My point is that all have weaknesses - aren't 100% reliable. What you did say originally was:

"Well, it appears the Patriot system was damaged severely or destroyed, else, they wouldn't now be pivoting to sending Iron Dome. "

That infers that the Patriot system was a failure because one launcher component was damaged, and it was necessary to replace the Patriot system. You can never have enough air defense when bombs and missiles are raining down, so the key is more as in supplement what you have initially ... supplement - not replace.

Another point - proactive - you didn't say it, is that what goes up must come down. If you successfully intercept an incoming missile or plane, stuff is going to fall out of the sky and there will be damage on the ground. That's been true since AA defenses first came into being. A damaged launcher could be nothing more than hit by falling debris. I still haven't read anything that supports the launcher being badly damaged or being successfully hit directly by an incoming missile. If a launcher was hit by an intact missile, it was a lucky "miss" because the intended target would have been the radar and command systems.

Oh... the coping is in full force. They are still talking about the alleged Ukrainian push on the flanks outside of Artemovsk (formerly known as Bakhmut).

Congrats on Russia finally taking Bakhmut... one year later.

It's the North American equivalent of the US capturing Tijuana.

Yep, the Russians are so incredibly incompetent you’d think with all the “aid” we’ve supplied Ukraine they’d had run the Russians out by now.

I wonder how the Russian people would react if Putin were suddenly out of the picture. And I mean by internal forces with a plan to move forward.

As Bakhmut falls and Ukraine’s air defenses are depleted, you’ll notice Zelensky is STILL not in Ukraine.

Since May 3rd, he has been in Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, France, Saudi Arabia, and now off to Japan for the G7 Summit 🤔

He’s hiding

For what reason, at this point, would any Russians have to overthrow Putin on May 20th, 2023? Unless they are plants from the west?
