I was going to say. Wasn't Hungary one of those rebellions that got put down pretty hard even after they surrendered? I think it was one of those where they used some late/post WW2 siege equipment/vehicles on single family residences that were holding out.

if you want peace propose some terms that both sides will find acceptable. If you can't you need to stfu.

Makes you wonder if the Russians have captured some US equipment and planted it where the cross border raids have taken place (Belgorod for one) to make it seem like Ukraine is using US equipment to attack or allow others to attack Russia itself as a means to limit more US hardware like F-16s. It seems trivial for Russia to get it's hands on this kind of stuff - either from fighting in Ukraine or from almost any military equipment/arms dealer - we've certainly spread enough of it around the globe. Apparently we left enough stuff in Afghanistan to supply entire armies.

What did he say that was worthy of you calling him not so smart? He simply stated the obvious: Ukraine can't win... outside of NATO putting boots on the ground or using nukes.

Armed men supposedly shot and killed local police and military in a military invasion and secured entire towns.

Any first rate military would have put that down within an hour. You can't dance around that fact. Something is very wrong with either narrative or Russian military capability.

Yeah, there was an Hungarian uprising in 1956, and the Russian response was brutal. I met a Hungarian guy years later in the Army who was there. One of the stories he told about seeing was a young kid with a hidden hand grenade climbing into a Russian tank and blowing it up. Seems a shame when people forget that kind of history - like why did their parents and grandparents even bother.
