Yes Putin invaded Ukraine because of the talk about NATO membership and the fact he wasn't interested in having NATO on his doorstep. But explain to me how Putin invading Ukraine is now a problem? Where was the outrage during the Obama administration when he took Crimea? Ukraine is and will always be a corrupt place and the US has no business/ interest in this conflict. Other than the government contract of 6-7 companies and political leaders with $ interests.

So how does taking Ukraine solve the "NATO on my doorstep" problem when Russia would then have Poland, Hungary and Romania -- all NATO countries -- on their new doorstep.

The NATO on my doorstep argument is such a howler. How you goobers still fall for it is beyond me.

NATO was on the Soviet Union’s doorstep for decades and it’s only a problem now.

After Putin downplayed it, Russia threatens Finland as it joins NATO

Yes Putin/Russia have made empty threats about Sweden and Finland joining NATO

Because he believed his own hubris and thought he could get away with it. Like he did in 2014. Everyone expected Ukraine to fold and this all to be over within a couple of weeks. I sure did. But as it turns out Ukraine actually did have a backbone and they bent but did not break. Today they are better equipped than the invading orcs and are highly motivated as they are fighting for their survival. Regardless how this ends up Putin and Russia have lost and are accelerating Russia’s decline from a former world power to just another backwater authoritarian **** hole

That's a pretty dumb take given that Finland in NATO increases Russia's border with a NATO as a whole by 832 miles, and puts St.Petersburg a short flight away from land-based missiles.

It's an especially dumb take given that Ukraine didn't have a MAP and that both Germany and France were 100% "no" on them joining NATO prior to 2/24/2022.

Lol. Ukraine held off Russia’s special forces in the assault on Kiev in the opening round. Ukraine has driven Russia out of Kherson and taken that city back. Kherson was the ONLY major metropolitan area Russia had taken and they’ve already lost it. Ukraine repulsed the push on Kharkiv and is now launching skirmishes across the border into Belgorod. Kharkiv is like 20 miles from Russia and the second largest city in Ukraine and Russia couldn’t take it. The entire Western military apparatus has been rearming and training Ukraine for close to a year. Who has been resupplying Russia? Three parade T-34’s from Laos? 😂 Yes, Ukraine is indeed the better equipped and more motivated army right now. All Russia has left is their time honored human wave mass casualty technique. Let’s see if the Russian citizens have the stomach for it over Ukraine 😈
