War in Ukraine

Dude you’re as transparent as glass. Your support of our Ukraine policy is an extension of your support for this administration.

The Ukrainian gov is as corrupt as the Russian. I know Putin is portrayed as the devil, but even our gov is more corrupt. The only thin line we have vs. these other countries and ours is the constitution, highlighted by the second amendment.

Ok, so tell me why a country with a government corruption rank lower than Mexico, shouldn't defend itself from being invaded by their genocidal neighbor?

Wait, why does the government corruption factor in at all, on whether or not Ukrainians should defend their country from invasion?

You’re a hopeless slave to your propaganda. I’ll stand by and wait for you to support our military intervention into this war. There’s zero chance Ukraine wins. But, every last billion and every last Ukrainian life lost will apparently be worth it to you.

Is the link proof of your being a sheep?

So you are proposing that the 56% of Republicans that support Ukraine, are just supporting the Biden presidency as a whole?

Or are you just lashing out because the poll doesn't support your nonsensical beliefs?

Why won't you answer the question?

Why is corruption in the Ukrainian government, a factor at all, in whether or not they should resist being invaded by Russia?

Who wouldn't support the Ukrainian people or the Russian people for that matter? Both are suffering because of corrupt leadership. The astounding part of this thread is the mass propaganda that is being spread. The Ukrainian people are definitely taking the worst of this. It would be great for the Ukrainian people to defeat the Russian army. This just doesn't seem to be the reality. If fighting on is worse on the people rather than finding a way to more peacefully end the war, the latter should be pursued. As far as the laundering of our tax dollars by our corrupt gov. thru the Ukraine war, that should cease immediately.

just like they are in fighting

Ask yourself why this is happening, or how it will go?
Will it be better for Ukraine long term? You're making assumptions just as they are in fighting on..... They've decided it's in their best interests.

Russia is suffering as well. They've lost a generations worth of wealth and more.

I know why this happening......

How it will go isn't determined yet. And as long as Ukraine wants to fight they should.

It has to do with Putin like governing and putting them thru a fight they can't win. What of the conscription of women being required now? If the Ukrainians were kicking ass as most of you brag about, would this be happening? None of you actually care about the people of Ukraine, much like their gov and ours, you just have blood libel for Putin. If that's your end goal, why not post that the sacrifice of all Ukrainians lives are worth it. At least that's a believable statement.
What does it say that Russia is beating the bushes a world away for mercs?

I think Kuleba actually has a point in this instance. If the Ukrainians are not advancing as fast as they would like, maybe they need to go to the front lines and show them how its done.

It isn't for us to decide.... This is Ukraine's war. There is no pistol to Ukraine's head forcing them to fight. They are trying to repel a foreign invasion.

You seem hell bent on making this about the US forcing a war Ukraine doesn't want..... That isn't the case at all. Your narrative falls apart under the most basic examination of facts.

So they are going to go after international observers in these so-called "sham" elections?

The Russian Federation is in the process of conducting sham elections in occupied areas of Ukraine. These so-called elections are taking place nearly one year after the Kremlin staged sham referenda and purported to annex Ukraine’s Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts, and over nine years after Russia purported to annex Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. The Kremlin hopes these pre-determined, fabricated results will strengthen Russia’s illegitimate claims to the parts of Ukraine it occupies, but this is nothing more than a propaganda exercise.

Russia’s actions demonstrate its blatant disregard for UN Charter principles like respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity, which underpin global security and stability. The United States will never recognize the Russian Federation’s claims to any of Ukraine’s sovereign territory, and we remind any individuals who may support Russia’s sham elections in Ukraine, including by acting as so-called “international observers,” that they may be subject to sanctions and visa restrictions.

You can tell him this, but you can't make him understand it.

@Rasputin_Vol has the same issue. They blame the victim for fighting back and the West for giving them the tools necessary to do so.

It's mindboggling how bad of an argument it is, but they persist. My guess is that it's either an intellectual deficit or just flat-out hatred for the west. Possibly both.

No, that 56% are just the typical establishment sheep.

Or that pol is crap, one or the other.

I mean we installed the government that pushed this war. I'm sure plenty of Ukrainians are against it. They are led by a corrupt government and influenced by another (us). Meanwhile, the only ones who suffer are everyday Russians and Ukrainians forced into fighting for rich oligarchs. Time and time again.

I agree with your view that most European countries have not been carrying their share of the load. I don't know why we keep troops in Germany stimulating their economy when we could move them to countries that are putting a higher percentage of GDP into their defense.

How exactly did the US "install" Zelensky as president?

Be specific.

Also, you do know that Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in 2014, right? Five full years before Zelensky was elected.

If you're concerned about the well being of the Ukrainian people, it's the major factor. If you're only concern is waging war against Russia, I guess it shouldn't.

You say they've decided. Is that the people or the Ukrainian gov?

We've got a lot of pretty rich in congress. Some married into money, some had money, but a lot have come into fortunes without any obvious reasons other than corruption. Wealth and power are basically two sides of the same thing because if someone holds one they have access to the other. Before getting upset about corruption or supposed corruption in other countries perhaps we should clean up our own. There's basically not an appointed position in DC or US ambassador to whatever country who wasn't appointed to the position because of wealth and/or position.
