War in Ukraine

And Ukraine has sent all and apparently need their women to die now, right?
Whatever they deem necessary to defend themselves from a foreign invasion force. That's their decision. Who are you or I to criticize it?

It's the people's will, correct? Or are the people suffering terribly at the decisions of their gov? Do you know which?

They can't elect anyone right now since Zelensky has delayed all elections until this decade war is over.
There are large areas of the country occupied by a foreign invasion force. Until things improve there I don't find that an unreasonable measure.

The people are suffering terribly because Russia invaded them and brought war to them...

I'm with you Russia should go home and let the Ukrainian people self determine.......

I know who is responsible for Ukrainian suffering...... And despite all your absolutely pathetic attempts to deflect the blame somewhere else it begins and ends with Russia at the moment.

I agree, that rape victim should just lay there and take it. How dare she fight back, now not only did she get raped she gets beat up too...... She had it coming
Again, when you have an apples to apples comparison. I don't believe and never will believe that it is of utmost importance that Ukraine be part of NATO. I don't have a problem with them fighting, but they are losing in a bad way.

Their gov's decision to fight a losing battle plays a part as well.

If you're concerned about the well being of the Ukrainian people, it's the major factor. If you're only concern is waging war against Russia, I guess it shouldn't.
The Ukrainian people seem to be more concerned with defending their nation from Russian imperialism and genocide.

Who are you to tell them that they should capitulate because of corruption in their government?

You took a current poll from the Ukrainian people about the war?

WTF are you talking about NATO for, I mean talk about moving the goalposts, hell you attempted to move the entire field.

I guess they think it's fight it out or buy some time only to have to fight the battle again..... Given Russian history and stated goals it's not unreasonable. I guess they feel it's do or die.......

I'm not sure what your dislike of the Ukrainian people is, or their right to fight for liberty as we once did.

His post was pure partisanship garbage on display. I don't think we have but one or 2 members that do not support Ukraine defending themselves, what we have is several members including myself that believe it should be Europe footing the bill for Ukraine's defense. I hope Ukraine soundly defeats the Russians and pushes them completely out the country including the taking back of Crimea.

I firmly believe bearded would be singing a completely opposite tune if Trump or any other Republican were sitting in the WH following the exact same strategy as Biden is.

The fault in that logic is that the world is a much much smaller place than it was even during WW2 when Europe's problem became our problem, too. There are a few bullies around the world, and two serious ones in particular. Russia is attempting to expand territory which gives them more access to industry, people, and resources for weaponry, strategic access to oceans, and military manpower. We still have space between us and our enemies; don't really believe the Cold War ever ended; it just paused while the other guys are getting their act together again. As Russia and China continue to subvert governments in our hemisphere, we don't even have as much ocean for isolation. This article opens up a bit of that thinking - could be alarmist thinking or could be bureaucracies protecting their turf, but I think there is something to it; and it doesn't really even address our vulnerability to cyberwarfare.

"The thing that I really want to emphasize here is that the homeland is not a sanctuary any longer," U.S. Air Force Col. Kristopher Struve, the vice director of operations for the U.S.-Canadian North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), said during a virtual roundtable hosted by the Missile Defense Advocacy Association (MDAA) in 2021. "There are opportunities for our adversaries to employ weapons from distances that they could strike critical infrastructure in the United States early in a conflict and create some challenges for us to produce our military power."

When did I ever express dislike for the Ukrainian people? Now you're just joining the Ukrainiac group think.
