Germany put themselves in a tough position. Their nation must obtain energy from a country they had a brutal war with.

Seems like Ukrainian troops are doing reasonably well... saw they're using IEDs to blow up columns of armor. If Ukraine can hold on defensively and not completely capitulate, unfortunately this is where the really ugly part of this war could start IMO.

If Putin gets frustrated that Russian troops can't take Kyiv without huge losses, then I think he'll start bombing the entire city building by building. Civilians, kids, grandmas blown up. He won't care.

Russians got no problem with total war. Genocide.

That's when this sh*t would get real, and our response could knock over the apple cart.

Well, Monaco is a principality not a country (sorry, I just had to use the opportunity to point that out). Plus it's another entity like Switzerland, that provides a secure haven for criminals/ despots/ etc. to stash their ill gotten gains. Now why should someone who has killed political opponents, stolen billions of dollars and now started a major war, be able to safety maintain his wealth simply because he put it in a "non-aligned country."

Sorry, I'm not buying that.

I am of the opinion that when a foreign adversary attacks the interests of the US, all bets are off. You hurt them anyway you can, as hard as you can.

He's leading everyone else is watching, what he's doing it for doesn't really matter, the fact is it's being done. We need someone to step in and and be the presence to dissuade him.

What are you a Russian bot? So what if he shared intel with China, you do that all the time to influence another country. We've been sharing intel with the world the last two weeks.

As far as XI, he wants us distracted because it weakens Taiwan. We should be seriously improving their anti-ship and anti-aircraft defenses. Chinese really need a bloodless capitulation there. XI doesn't want to end up with 20,000 troops and invasion ships at the bottom of the Formosa straits, not that he would care about the lost troops, but those ships could not be easily replaced.

It's really too bad we can't get things stirred up between the Russians and Chinese again. In the late 60's, while Mao was still around, the Russians and Chinese had multiple border skirmishes with casualties on both sides. Their cultural hostility dates back to the Mongol hordes crossing the steppes into Russia.

There was even a Second City skit where a Russian diplomat is taunting his Chinese counterpart about China's then non-existent heavy missile capability resulting in the inability to hit Russia with they nukes and the Chinese diplomat says "No problem we have 1 million volunteers that will deliver it."
