A British intelligence report Saturday claimed the bulk of Russian forces are now 18.5 miles (30 kilometers) from the capital city and that Russia has failed to gain control of the airspace over Ukraine, greatly reducing the Russian Air Force’s impact and potentially leveling the fight.
"Russian casualties are likely to be heavy and greater than anticipated or acknowledged by the Kremlin," the report from the British Ministry of Defense said.
Noice. That Russia can't control the sky is HUGE. Guessing Ukraine has more than just Stinger anti-aircraft systems there after all.
This is really big if true.
Just grabbed one myself.

I figured China probably encouraged Putin to be very aggressive with his military to use it as a learning experience for their own plans for Taiwan. See how the world reacts, what kind of sanctions or challenges they face, and use that in their own preparations for how they want to take Taiwan.Looks like SWIFT expulsion is in the cards, the final holdouts have come out in favor. Also it seems all of NATO is sending arms and ammunition shipments to Ukraine over the border. Putin has rallied the world against him.
I’m thinking about buying one. It is a cool shirtI like the idea of some badass out there recking Russian planes, but it seems a bit far-fetched. My guess is that this is a tall tale started to give the resistance hope.
Still, it's a cool shirt.
This is why I think Russia is struggling. Putin wants this, but I don't think the Russian people do.
If Turkey and Russia wind up in military conflict this goes sideways quickly since Turkey is NATO. If Putin winds up fighting NATO he will let his nukes fly when it’s clear he’s lost.
Only makes since the frigging Turks would ratchet everything up you can never invite them to any social events no social graces.
OK you get bonus points for the Dr. Strangelove references. Despite the time I spent at the Pentagon, I identify more with Maj. Kong although I do love that riff from Turgidson when he's talking about B-52s getting past the Russian defenses:
"You wouldn't expect it with a big ol' plane like a '52, but varrrooom! The jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!"
I did say that I wanted any records they might find. But once again, why should she be considered hands-off? She's the mistress to a married , murdering, despot living the life of luxury on the Riviera on money that has been stolen by her lover. I'm not getting the "poor little innocent girl" vibe you have.
And if you think I'm hard core, go hang around the Quantico Marine base.

Yep. It seems like their equipment isn't close to being up to par.It also seems like the Russian military wasn’t fully prepared for the invasion. That’s not totally shocking though because Russia isn’t exactly known for their exemplary military strategy. If you go back to WWII, they relied on throwing as many bodies to the front lines as possible more than actual strategy.
The scary thing is I’d guess only like minded individuals like himself are probably the ones with the launch codes. And if he winds up fighting NATO he knows he’s lost. I hope there are fail safes too. I’d guess there aren’t.The second he mixes it up with NATO, he's lost. I would like to think there are fail safes that would keep Putin's nuke finger in check.

I hope there is not some autonomous auto launch mechanism.
