Sounds like the deal was agreed to and Zelensky wanted to sign it here. If it was so bad why did they go so far with it? Clearly enough people in Ukraine agreed to it since it passed along as far as it did.

Some many shallow narratives about the situation.

2016 completely poisoned the well politically in this country. People on both sides have abandoned their principles and base everything on whether Trump supports it or not.

I don't know if they sabotaged it or Zelensky never planned to agree eventhough he indicated he would - either way it's clear Ukraine was strongly signaling they were on board and then they or he weren't/wasn't.

I've seen nothing to indicate we changed the terms (maybe I missed it).

Maybe an honest gamble by Z?

I'm encouraged to see that this is forcing Europe to fish or cut bait on the issue.

Craziest thing I've ever seen in diplomacy and the partisan/press reaction is a stupid as any one could ever expect. Would be funny if so many people weren't dying.

Fear and anger have always been the most effective tools of mass manipulation. Trump is and expert at making people despise him. He's also good about making the other folks despise his opponents.

The country had the audacity to elect a non-white man, twice. Everything since then has been a potential opportunity to show how a famous white man (no matter how many women accused him of assault or children said he walked in on them naked) is always superior to the alternative
