War in Ukraine

Will just put this here for VN progressives - Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if Trump were president: poll

The survey released Friday from the Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)-Harris Poll found that 62% of Americans believed Putin would not have pulled the trigger if Trump were still president

Elections (even fake ones) have consequences far and wide

And for those of you swallowing every bit of hero Ukraine - understand that we can still root for the underdog and desire Putin's downfall without being suckered into the propaganda that our own agencies are running on Ukraine's behalf. You guys dont really see what is happening but you have already bought the narrative.

One thing I notice - whatever happens to Ukraine (you know, that troubled corrupt place that was paying Hunter last week) and Putin (cold rat bastard that he is) and Russia - the only winners from this conflict are:
1. China
2. Those who want to pivot from the disaster that has been Covid totalitarianism (yeah, remember that Trudeau was basically Putin lite last week) and want us all to forget that before the midterms.
3. Eco warriors who wanted $5 gas to force us all into EVs and net zero.

When I see the above winners, it makes me suspicious of the rest of what I am seeing.
Ukraine is our puppet. We can’t have the puppets taken after our serious financial tributes to them.

Money has to go around in a circle to keep an economy going. When you break the chain and send it elsewhere, one or more segments of the economy collapse. In this case we lost a lot of the manufacturing sector, and there's no way that doesn't catch up with the result that companies can't sell what people can't afford. Henry Ford had thoughts about products, their affordability, and his worker's ability to buy them; somewhere our business types have never understood or have forgotten the symbiotic relationship between producers and consumers and employees as consumers ... or maybe as long as they get huge personal short term plunder, they simply don't care about raping the country and selling it down the road.
That is exactly what happened; they sold out the American people for a huge short-term windfall. I guess they figured they would be dead by the time the butchers bill came due for that.

You guys are not leaving Putin any out...so lets just declare war and get it started.
Just a man that can annihilate the freaking planet.

Baby steps

Holy crap, there’s a subreddit r/volunteersForUkraine. There are so many stories of Americans and just people all over the world showing their flight into Poland and other surrounding countries to help fight. Words can’t describe what is going on

The circle jerking in this thread gets old. You can’t claim “Trump lives rent free” if you keep bringing him up. He’s not a public servant: fact. So what does any of that matter?

I imagine that is exactly what will happen, and it will probably start soon. The indiscriminate bombing of civilians may prompt NATO to get involved.
if we were willing to risk a shooting war with a nuclear-armed opponent, we'd already be running air sorties and taking out Russian naval assets. it's a bad deal for Ukraine. Once Putin started this, he knew that the only unacceptable outcome is to lose a 1v1 vs. Ukraine. it will get worse and worse, create a massive refugee crisis, and eventually there will be a pro-Putin government in Kiev. It's just a question of how many people are gonna die.

I think we are waiting on "justification". Indiscriminate bombing of civilians would provide us and others with that.

Did anyone expect a full scale Ukraine invasion? I was thinking at most it would be the outlying areas trying to go independent and some battles/skirmishes possibly supporting that. Not the Russian army trying to take Kyiv. After seeing that and Ukraine putting up a lot of resistance and not rolling over I could understand some European countries taking a much more hardline stance against Russia since there’s no real or even weak justification for a full invasion. This just looks like attempted land grab country take over thievery.

Putin’s speech a few days ago suggesting Ukraine had no right to be independent definitely got my interest but I didn’t think they would attempt to take over Ukraine completely.
I agree, I didn't think they were stupid enough to invade The Ukraine proper...but nope they were. I figured they would just sit there in the separatist regions and harass the hell out of the Ukrainians forever.

I am so grateful that we have a competent President now, instead of that Godless, whore mongering, silver spooned in New York City, big bellied, fat assed, ignorant and maladapted brat, who lost his campaign for re-election.

anything worth loving is worth dying for. TAKE HIM OUT FAM. Quit being cowards and ciminals. Take Him Out. I will be the first to go.
