War in Ukraine

Yes, it is. Watch potentially 100K+ people killed in each of the large cities because we are afraid to act or act and not worry about that less than 5% chance Putin will try to launch something.
No, this could have been avoided in 2013/2014. The slow boil of the last years has brought us to this point. Peace and diplomacy were easily within our grasp if we really wanted that. There is no strategic advantage or necessity to add Ukraine in NATO other than to agitate Russia.

And there was no reason for Russia to invade the Ukraine other than Putin's a little bitch.

The line is drawn with our treaty allies. It's bright red. He knows where it is, and we know where it is. The last thing we need to do is let the hawks' brinkmanship lead us into a nuclear holocaust.
Agreed. I don't think he is as committed to the lines as you think he is. He's literally threatened nuclear war.

You’re just reinforcing the idea that Putin has to go, if you believe he is capable of launching nukes.

At some point you have to punch the bully in the nose. If he was really planning on launching nukes that last thing he would do is threaten us with them. He uses that threat to get everyone to let him do what he wants.
Yes, he used the threat to get other nations to back down. That in no way means he wouldn't carry through with the threat if he thought his own days were numbered anyway.

You mean if we get involved there is maybe only a 5% chance we could plunge the world into new age of darkness. Hell yeah, let's go for it.

I wrote a long response to this but realized it's useless. You are a stooge. Incapable of actual real criticism of these despot leaders. Stuck on blaming the west for everything. Earlier you acknowledged that sometimes you wonder if you are crazy. You are.

I disagree. he is wholly owned by China now. he had to give up a huge chunk of his country's future oil and gas reserves to get China to have his back. China does not want to lose that or their new partner in future global negotiations. China is quietly letting him do want he wants until it potentially affects them. once it starts to affect them. he will be reined back in.

Personally, death doesn't scare me. It's all you other heathens I worry about.

It's all well and good to say he "has to go," but how do you propose to make him go? We contained the Soviets without destroying the world. We can contain Putin too.

He is threatening nukes over Ukraine? At this point you can’t trust he is stable. Is he going to be more stable as time passes? No.

I don’t know how you do it. But someone with the means and intelligence is going to need to take this guy out. Threatening nukes is not allowable.

Right, they can't fly fighter jets Poland > Ukraine. That's just asking for escalation.

Does UKR have any safe airfields left?

Makes sense to fly out of countries like Poland; otherwise there's the logistics problem of moving fuel, spares, support equipment, and armament into Ukraine, and who would be doing that. More security for crews, maintenance personnel, and equipment if outside Ukraine, too. We know the Chinese certainly and probably the Russians have used borders as sanctuary in the past against us, so it's not like it's a new or novel technique the world is suddenly using against them.
