War in Ukraine

This will take years upon years to have fielded equipment. One thing that strikes me is this:

"Some 20 billion euros must be invested in new munitions. Because the threat level has been low for so long, the Bundeswehr hasn’t been regularly refilling its weapons depots for decades. The result is that there is a severe lack of rockets and artillery shells for tanks, ships and helicopters."

Having high dollar delivery systems is industrial military welfare....Having a lack of munitions that mate to these delivery systems only indicates that. That is what you call a paper tiger.

Germany is in a world of hurt with spending priorities...

I might pick up some LM and Raytheon stock.
Nope, go with Rheinmetall

We should take a lesson - lots of property bought by Russians in the US. And we could certainly do without the Russian Mafia. I haven't figured out why we allow foreigners to buy US property in the first place when so many countries don't allow outsiders to buy property there.
The same can be said about dual citizenship.

That’s speculation and highly disputed. Neither you nor I know how much influence any oligarch has. Nor do we know if he the man in question actually supports the war

The better course would probably just to tell the guy that he and his boat aren't welcome here and he has til sundown to get out of town. In the whole scheme of things you'd have a hard time convincing people that anyone who has amassed that kind of wealth in Russia doesn't have some serious clout going on within the government or criminal organization if there's a difference. Remember when the Soviet Union broke up supposedly nobody had anything, but obviously some people had money or power way beyond mere mortals - and very likely influence similar to Putin from the old days. Screw 'em.

Guys, his name is Rasputin_Vol. He is pretty much Russian. Give it a rest. That is his country and anthem. He is probably in Moscow now laughing his butt of trolling us on this thread.

We really need to support those countries, and form a new version of the old SEATO.
Agreed. We should be going out of our way to increase trade and strengthen bonds with those countries.

And yea I could see the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, those countries thinking hard about an alliance.

I'll let that comment stand by itself. Nothing more to say...
There's plenty more, but you can't reconcile the actions of this angry, aging dictator through any other lens. It's easier for you to ignore the groundswell of support for Ukraine from the vast majority of it's citizenry who would rather choose to fight and die than roll over and be dictated. So you choose to believe Ukraine had it coming, even if you don't "necessarily" support indiscriminate killing of Innocents for political purposes.....
