War in Ukraine

NATO gears up for Huge War Games on Land, Sea and in the Air in Norway with 30,000 troops from 27 countries later this month amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Russia has declined to send observers to upcoming military manoeuvres involving tens of thousands of troops from NATO countries later this month in Norway, the Norwegian military said today.

The largest Nato exercise planned for this year, Cold Response 2022 will bring together around 30,000 troops from 27 nations.

As usual, member states of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), including Russia, have been invited to send observers to follow the exercise, which was planned long before Russia's military offensive in Ukraine last week.

Zelensky says it's a 'pity' Biden and the West's support came AFTER the war started and the 'end of the world has arrived' in defiant news conference as US warns 90% of Putin's Border Forces have Now Crossed Into Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the US and the West had acted too late to protect his country from the might of the Russian army and described how 'the end of the world has arrived' during a news conference on Thursday.

He appealed for more help during a defiant appearance in his capital Kyiv as fighting entered its second week.

A Pentagon official said Russia has now sent almost all its assembled combat power across the border into Ukraine, while reports suggested they were gaining ground across the south.

Zelensky repeated his plea for a NATO no-fly zone to protect his cities and troops.

NATO can not do that no matter how badly they want to . That would be VERY bad .

Glad RT is addressing this head-on and not pussyfooting around.

We've laughed about commie cats in the family from time to time - at one time or another there's been a Russian Blue and a Havana Brown - the Tonkinese may have been skirting the issue.

No thanks. A few left coast visits were good enough - not fond of the upper right coast either. The scenery can be very nice on both coasts though.
I'm in AZ. We have WAY too many California invaders here. The Phoenix-metro area has lead the Case-Shiller index for housing price gains for 31 consecutive months as a result.

About 10-15% of them did in 2016. I'm not sure about the 2020 numbers.
Magic Grandpa and Trump are both different flavors of populism: there is some overlap between the two groups.

BOOM. Extremism. I related to them, and still do in some ways, but even their socialist representative calmed down and fell in line when she got in congress. Realized the best way to change a system is from within a system. You have to work within a system.

You should have seen where they were a couple presidents ago.

I'm not going to put him up for sainthood, but what he's done the last week is quite gutsy.

OK, nobody said he has no good qualities. He's still an authoritarian. I called Trump an authoritarian for less. You probably did, too.

Or they just rig the primaries to get rid of opposition. There is a little size difference in our oligarchy but it's the same

I was thinking earlier about how our oligarchs came to be and how the Russian ones came to be. When the communists took over Russia they wiped out the ruling class and according to legend made everybody the same. They even wiped out generals, and then realized they were in a war and nobody knew how to fight, and cabbage farmers didn't design weapons. So some people got promoted, they stole a lot of technology (seems like a common socialist/communist theme), and found some competent guys who could build planes, tanks, guns, etc ... and some others to find oil, minerals, metals ores, etc. And then they basically put slave labor to work. Now when the Soviet Union went broke in theory everybody should have been equally destitute, but obviously it didn't work that way. I think you'd have to agree that the haves who came out of the Soviet Union with wealth and power were put there by the government otherwise their rise to power should have taken far longer.

Ukrainian-Born GOP Rep. Victoria Spartz chokes up as she reveals her 95-year-old Grandmother's hometown has been Bombed Every Day and calls on Biden administration to help evacuate desperate civilians

Indiana Republican Rep. Victoria Spartz revealed in an emotional TV interview that her 95-year-old grandmother had to relocate to the basement of her apartment building in Ukraine after the neighboring building was bombed amid Russia's brutal invasion.

Spartz, who is the first Ukrainian-born member of Congress, recounted the terrifying episode as she appealed for military aide for Ukraine and said Russian President Vladimir Putin should be investigated for war crimes.

'Interestingly enough, my grandma turns 95 today and we couldn't reach her,' Spartz told Fox New in an interview.

'My mom just called me a few minutes ago and told me that we reached her neighbor and the building next to her was hit so it blocked all of her windows in the apartment and they moved into the basement,' she continued.

She said her grandmother was safe in the basement but the humanitarian crisis had reached a new level in the country where she was born.

'I was just listening to the mayor. Saying they hit directly buildings, blood banks, schools, water towers, electric facilities. They have nothing. People in the basement with no food, no electricity, nothing. My friend just called relatives in the city by Kyiv. They are on the ground crying and they tried to talk to Russians to have safe passage they didn't do it,' she said.

While he’s right in a sense, Richard is probably like about 90% of Americans that thinks this just started last week...oblivious to the fact the American-armed Kiev has been constantly shelling the Donbass to the tune of 14k civilian deaths in the past 8 years...breaking their part of the Minsk agreement on a daily basis.

Civilians of the Donbass don’t exist..

Somewhere there is a US military leader near the top who thinks now might be a great time to attack Russia.

You all know it’s true.

It’s damn true.

I think they were retired; the current ones are more concerned about finding uniforms that the whole gang can like ... can't go to war in mismatched pumps and dresses.

Please show me in the Minsk agreement where Russia could take over and occupy several regions of Ukraine? If the Russian soldiers were not there, the Ukrainians would not need to shell them, and the civilians would not have died as a result.

Shelling the Russian-armed soldiers, who, incidentally, were firing back.

In knew some of those guys. Bernie bros backed bernie and fought Hillary at every step. wrote his name in in many cases, effectively voting for trump. They were working for trump and didn't realize it.

That's not how that works fella. No one is entitled to vote for who you want them to vote for. We can play that game all day. You like dd's. Everyone who loves a good set of dd's should always vote with the more conservative candidate. Why? Because I said so.

The Minsk agreement was between Kiev and the Donbass...not Ukraine and Russia.

If Russian soldiers were there...half of the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk wouldn’t have been in Ukrainian hands as of a week ago.

You're right it seems like about 90% of people are ignorant to the fact that much of this began under the Obama administration. But he's the democrat messiah so obviously he could do no wrong.
