As they should be. The US does many things right, but the way we abbreviate dates is stoooopid.
It should either be
2022.03.07 (big endian)
Or
07.03.2022 (little endian)

The best part about membership in the Democrat party is that logical consistency is not required (in fact, it is downright frowned upon). ISO is what I often use for computer file names. Like you say, sorting is easy thenShould absolutely be ISO standards:
yyyy-mm-dd
Largest units to smallest units…and therefore has the benefit of being easily sortable.
Also ensures consistent parsing. The inconsistent way we deal with dates not just in the US - but in other countries around the glove - is a real PITA.
