War in Ukraine

Strangers are Leaving Strollers, Car Seats, Winter Coats and Toys at the Polish Border for Ukrainian Refugees

Przemyśl, Poland (CNN) Hundreds of thousands of children are among two million refugees who have fled Ukraine looking for safety after Russia's invasion of its neighbor began two weeks ago.

Women and children have been forced to leave their fathers and brothers behind after the Ukrainian government enforced martial law, banning all-male citizens 18-60 years old from leaving the country, according to the State Border Guard.

Most of those who have fled have gone to Poland, to Ukraine's west, with large numbers also entering Hungary, Moldova, Romania and Slovakia -- the journey, in many cases, lasting several days.

They arrive with next to nothing.

To help alleviate some of the stress and emotions attached to fleeing Ukraine, strangers in Polish communities are helping strangers get settled with basic necessities in a place that may not feel anything like home.

That compassion greets the refugees the moment they step off their train onto the platform at the Przemyśl station.

Polish citizens left shopping carts filled with diapers at the Przemyśl train station platform.

Strollers, carriers, jackets, toys, stuffed animals, diapers, even walkers for the elderly, have filled the area alongside the railway.

Small mountains of clothing, shoes, jackets and outerwear fill cardboard boxes just outside of the Przemyśl train station at a refugee relocation center.

Everything is free.

Volunteers told CNN the amount of donations received from people in Poland was overwhelming. The generosity appears to be spread largely by word of mouth.

Car seats and carriers line the wall of the Przemyśl train station.

Przemyśl is the first train stop for refugees who enter Poland via the Medyka border crossing. Those who walk into the country have also been greeted by strollers, car seats, clothing and diapers.

The volunteer effort has become more organized over the past week. Dozens of volunteers with yellow vests, speaking multiple languages, are helping the refugees any way they can. They are now getting assistance from people from other European nations.

Diapers, baby wipes and food items fill a room inside the Przemyśl train station.

And help isn't just available in the form of physical supplies -- some people have been holding up signs, offering rides to different places across Europe and volunteers are helping refugees find a place to stay -- be it a school gymnasium or families who have offered to take in women and children.

Fact checkers or fact killers? Victoria Nuland debunked the fact checkers with her bio lab testimony.

Victoria Nuland: Ukraine Has "Biological Research Facilities," Worried Russia May Seize Them

Self-anointed "fact-checkers” in the U.S. corporate press have spent two weeks mocking as disinformation and a false conspiracy theory the claim that Ukraine has biological weapons labs, either alone or with U.S. support. They never presented any evidence for their ruling — how could they possibly know? and how could they prove the negative? — but nonetheless they invoked their characteristically authoritative, above-it-all tone of self-assurance and self-arrogated right to decree the truth, definitively labelling such claims false.

Is that DA doubling down or is that part of the first one where he was talking about how they hope Ukraine doesn’t take our attention on climate change ?
From what I gathered after reading JK is saying that climate change refugees will be a bigger deal in the future than the refugees currently fleeing Ukraine if the world doesn’t resolve the climate change problem.

Didn’t you just post a tweet saying there was no real war? Make up your mind psycho. “I’m not rooting for Putin but cheering against the West”. Gtfo of here with that BS
Or the point of the tweet was that it is relatively quiet in the city and not the Fallujah/Aleppo scene that the media wants to show you. Nobody said anything about fake anything.

GTFOH youself...

The TV war mongers are hitting the drums hard today. Baby hospitals are being targeted by the Russians, the Russians are killing innocent women and children.
I thought the COVID pumping they were doing was on Level 10, but these guys have exceeded that level.

I wonder how many Russia has? I would venture to guess dozens if not hundreds since you continually point out the US’ foreign and domestic policy flaws
I have no idea how many they have. All I know is that Russia intervened in the Middle East to remove Syria's chemical weapons in 2013 while the United States supplied chemical weapons to a Middle Eastern country (Iraq).

You have to think that if the Russian people saw these photos of what their military was doing, and learned the truth about the entire situation, that Putin's life wouldn't be worth a nickel. I get the policy against assassination, and you never know if the guy coming in behind him might be worse but watching this its tough not to wonder to myself what would I do if I found myself armed and standing in a room with Putin right now.

You’d start ranting about Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy Speaks Out After Leaked UN Email Instructs Staff Not To Say 'War'

The email asked United Nations staff to call Russia's invasion of Ukraine a "conflict" or "military offensive."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed a leaked U.N. email instructing staff not to characterize Russia’s attack on Ukraine as a “war” or “invasion,” but instead as a “conflict” or “military offensive.”

“I know this outraged many, and not only in Ukraine,” Zelensky said on a video posted on Telegram on Tuesday, according to CNN.

The U.N. email, with the subject line “Ukraine crisis communication guidelines,” was intended for internal use by staff. It also reminded workers to be careful about personal use of social media.

Zelenskyy said his representatives contacted the U.N. following the disclosure, first reported in the Irish Times on Tuesday.

“We made everything clear and quickly received assurances: there will be no lies in the U.N. structures,” Zelenskyy said. “There will be no playing along with the aggressor. The word ‘war’ will be heard on this site. Because that is the truth. We will not allow anyone in the world to ignore the suffering and murder of our people, our children.”

Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba accused the U.N. of censorship.

“It’s hard to believe that the UN could essentially impose the same kind of censorship as the Kremlin imposes inside Russia now by banning the use of words ‘war’ and ‘invasion’ among UN staff,” Kuleba tweeted on Tuesday. “I urge the UN to swiftly refute such reports if they are false. UN reputation at stake.”

Biological research is not the same as biological weapons.
Also, if it was just biological research, then there would have been no need for Nuland to offer a doom and gloom scare tactic about a Russian biological attack. If it was just a bunch of research facilities, there would be nothing to weaponize, right?

They are winning the information war. No doubt about that. They certainly have a damn good narrative they are spinning. Controlling the language and redefining terms is part of that.

Biological research is not the same as biological weapons.

Uhhhh watch that video - why would the USA be concerned that "biological research facilities" would "fall into Russian hands". Nuland was practically squirming on the seat to thread the needle and not say the word "weapon". You can be pretty sure these research facilities were not working to cure pediatric cancer.

Don't know if anyone remembers, but not long ago we were funding a "biological research facility" in Wuhan, China. How did that go?

Because Putin loves poison and will use what ever he can find there, but China has insisted we disclose and are still standing with Ukraine.
