Here is the thing, even if they combine navies, they are no match for US. In fact, the second strongest navies are probably France and UK who are our allies in this situation. However, China and Russia have stronger land forces in their specific regions which makes them a threat to countries around them. Russia also has very good missile technology and has some anti-ship missiles so fighting them close to their waters (i.e. Baltic and Black seas) may not be recommended.

This is getting scary. I am sure Putin is not willing to start a war because ultimately it could end up being a nuclear exchange and end the world.

Most would consider Russia & China as the #2 & #3 blue water navies in the world. We don’t need them teaming up.

And I’d say Japan & UK are the 2 best others.

Ukrainian officials are apparently in disagreement about the US's assessment of the situation. Sounds like somebody's lying.
