War in Ukraine

It was going to happen anyway. Just a matter of time. We're to busy pushing the climate/green agenda at home while developing nations pollute at record rates.
We have inept and corrupt leadership in this country that will take decades to clean up even if we started yesterday.

We've wasted our blessing in this country and have to make deals and make war in far flung places around the globe instead of focusing on building our own economy.

Norway is currently testing a Leopard 2A7 and a South Korean K2 Black Panther to see which MBT they'll go with. That's fairly close.
I would think that just for ease of obtaining spare parts and service, the Leopard should be the clear winner here. Germany is just a short boat trip away (or train with the Copenhagen/Malmo bridge)

Yeah, anybody who thinks the West will suffer more than Russia economically is braindead.
You all are popping your mouths off about finished products and ignoring the strains this will place on raw materials.

Just in terms of oil, if Russia isn't selling to The West, then that means that all of these Western countries will be competing with each other over oil supplies from other regions. So even though we don't rely heavily on Russian oil right now, that ignores the fact that these other suppliers will have to meet that missing source/supply. That means shortages and/or higher prices here.

Same could be said about wheat, aluminum or any other commodity that Russia may have.

That, at least directly, sanctions on Russia will not hurt me. Indirectly, of course the oil shutoff will affect me greatly. But I blame Biden for that since he crippled domestic petroleum supplies
Finished product from Russia? You're probably correct. But raw materials? How much of what you've bought do you think has materials that originated out of Russia? Likely a good bit more than you think.

I do hear that Putin makes a bowl of soup that people would just DIE for

The United States is the world leader in clean energy. We have ample farmland and an array of water purification systems (salt or other)

It's high time we ramp that up even more.

My entire home is petroleum or oil free.
Car as well.
- minus the manufactured products.
The reason the United States feels it can extend its ideologies across the globe is because it's already it's own planet within itself.

We have our hands in everything, and it's not hubris to say, we can just as quickly let it all go. Lean years are ahead for this country...
But honestly it's needed.

No plastics in your house? Went with metal or tile roofing? Even electric cars have lube points and tires.

And you continue to live under the delusion that you Russia can simply transition from Europe to China without consequences. Russia needs Europe far more than the other way around in the long run. That’s why your idol is crying about how the west is being mean to him.

So is it TRY to eliminate or is it eliminate. The obvious point is that no one has yet lost an elected office because of opposition to Trump. So the “big tent” still stands. I don’t understand the left always going on about Trump fans purging Republicans when so far, they are batting 0%. Sounds like a pretty weak faction to me.
I guess the Trump followers have about the same success rate as Vol Teams winning National Championships
What??????
RNC chair to Flake: GOP candidates who didn't support Trump lost
“I will say, if you look at 2016, the senators that did not support the president, and let's look at Joe Heck and Kelly Ayotte, they fell short in those Senate races, so there is a cautionary tale there, because voters want you to support the president in his agenda,” McDaniel said.

Your home is not Petro or oil free. Literally everything within your home is either made from it or delivered to you with it.

Never suggested that. It will be some initial pain, obviously.

And I heard it said last night/earlier this morning.... after this, Russia and Europe simply need to mutually go their separate ways. Russia can turn to the 2.5 billion in China and India and leave the 800 million of Europe where they are.

The feds or state govt shouldn't mandate that businesses can't require it. They should not override the wishes of local boards and govt to do things in their communities.

You work for the govt then tough luck. Maybe you'll support smaller govt next time you vote. Beyond that the govt shouldn't have the control to mandate a vax
That’s fair.

I had apparently overlooked the government employee discussion. I don’t really see that as a big government or overreach issue. That would lead to all manner of absurd results. I see it as a prudential issue, but the end result of voting for somebody else is still the same.

@Rasputin_Vol You seem like a nice guy, but I just can't understand your position. Everything about Russia that seems to be wrong, you throw up some comparison to the US and give some, "this is awful when the US does it, so that justifies anything Russia does," excuse. But for some reason, it's only awful when Americans do it. It's not awful when Russians do it. If it's so bad, just say so, don't berate Americans and excuse Russians. Call them both out.
