War in Ukraine

It didn't have to come to this conflict.

Also, I hope you are not asserting that what is going on there is more sinister than anything we would have done in this stage of the conflict.
Even if it was the same, and I don't think that it is, It doesn't justify what is happening.

So, basically the world is like a lawless old west movie and Russia doesn't like the idea of a rule of law governing it. Is that what we're supposed to take from his comments?
Sounds to me like Russia and company is tired of us having all this influence around the world. Wonder how they stop it.

Biden not getting what he hoped for from China, quite the opposite.

Xinhua released a longer readout of the Biden-Xi call. It indicates no change in China’s stance. Xi didn't suggest a role China could play in ending the war. And he used a favorite phrase of his to cast blame on the US: "Let he who tied the bell on the tiger’s neck take it off.”

They don't. The biggest and most vocal group pushing Russia to westernize is their younger generations. Putin and the older generations of Russians who largely support him are fighting a long term losing battle trying to prevent the inevitable.

We are doing plenty to damage our standing in the world, we don't need help. But I imagine your probably correct about it being a divided old gaurd new blood divide in Russia.

Man, does that sound familiar............story old as time.

FFS, Russia invaded a sovereign nation. For all of your bluster, Ukrainians elected Zelensky. They've chosen to fight the Russians. That alone proves you're spouting a bunch of BS. Ukraine was not threatening Russia. You keep making assertions that make you look like a dumbass. Putin is provoking ****, but apparently your head is so far up his ass you haven't noticed.
They invaded in order to stop the conflict happening on their border against ethnic Russians/Russian people. In addition, they saw an increasing security threat in Ukraine where NATO was involved in pushing military assets into the region and engaged in weapons of mass destruction.

Your prior posts are not the truth. That was a coordinated coup by the United States in 2014.
The people of Ukraine were but satisfied with their puppet Russian president. There were popular demonstrations, the government cracked down and hurt people. Ukraine wanted to align with the west, certainly at that point, and we assisted them. A replacement was put in his place and fast forward a number of years Zelensky won office and had carried out the will of most Ukrainian's.

Which part of that isn't true?

You mean the conflict they helped create and supported with weapons and training?

Well, if he's using smart weapons he's purposefully targeting soft civilian targets. I'm trying to give Putin the benefit of the doubt here.
You're showing you bias and not showing much logic.

If he really wanted to target civilian targets for the purpose of total conquest, there wouldn't be a building left standing east of the Dneiper River.
