One of my favorite friends is a Canuck . We make fun of both our governments and how stupid they are all the time .

One buddy sent me a clip of Trudeau talking a bout the need for masks because of people speaking “moistly”. He’s as much of a moron as Biden and Harris. Maybe more so.

I'm just mentioning the fact that Twitter allows someone who is a self admitted white supremacist in Spencer on their platform but they ban Trump and others who clearly do not subscribe to that ideology. But I guess Twitter gives a pass to white supremacists if they support Joe Biden.

It's a good representation of people who would choose to go to that chat room. But people who would choose to go to that chat room are certainly not a good representation of the population at large.

It's fine to separate issues. Gandalf is correct in the misinformation aspect. It doesn't change the facts that Russia was the aggressor and is committing atrocities. It's still best to have accurate information rather than deal in propaganda.

Both sides have provoked and both sides have reasonable grievances. To act as though Ukraine was but an innocent victim in this affair is disingenous as well. This is why my position has been for the US to remain neutral in this regional conflict. We have made the situation worse all around, for ourselves, Europe and Ukraine.

Ukraine became the victim when Russia invaded.

Any "bombing" they did of Donbas was done after they tried to leave Ukraine. So again Ukraine not being the aggressor.

Victim doesn't mean innocent. Not sure why you and Ras keep on that point that noone is making.

Just like syria requested russian help after there was fighting with bad on both sides. Ukraine is now requesting hell after there was fighting with bad on both sides.

Even if you want to believe their was a coup to kick out the pro Russian guy, instead of his pro russian stance blowing up in his face, as we see evidence for with the ongoing civilian participation in the fighting. There have been 2 democratically elected presidents since then. You havent established any threshold on how far removed from a coup before things are considered legitimate, but two seems reasonable as the replacer has been replaced.

Also coups tend to stick someone directly in power, rather than call for a new democractic election 3 months later. A bit anticlimactic you have to agree.

I am saying simply that anyone who does not think that any country at war does whatever it thinks it needs to do to win, they are fooling themselves. Sure Russia didnt have to invade but now that they did, they will be just as brutal as they think it takes to win both now and longer. Ukraine is fighting for its existence and will lie, cheat, steal, murder baby kittens and do whatever it takes to survive. No shame in that really. The shame is for others who are not in the fight to take as gospel any information coming from either combatant.

Every soldier knows that once you are actually in a fight, why or how you got there doesn't matter so much as surviving it.

So the political polls we take here are no good now ? I’d look at as being such a wide cross section of people from different countries basically saying the same thing , makes it a very logical possibility. They didn’t join that chat to discuss American politics or America in general . This is just from subjects that come up . The Russians right now are quiet about anything political and there are no Ukrainians that I know of .
