War in Ukraine

I think Zelenski wanted security assurances but wasn't getting it and realized he was being hung out to dry. He most likely tried an emotional plea that pushed out with more anger and frustration than he intended and it went further south from there.

Trump should not have allowed that too go public in front of cameras. Zelenski should have known that his frustration could be used against him. Better to go back home and try to leverage some European pressure to that end.

Bottom line is that discussion being public was a disaster in the making. Maybe he was goaded by Trump, but I've also been told Trump isn't that smart, he's just reactionary. I'm not completely sure one way or the other.

Trump tends to use emotion to negotiate. He hates you until you come to his side and then you are the greatest thing ever. It has been his MO even before he got into politics. If Zelenskyy was agreeing to Trump right now, Trump would be praising him to the high heavens as the smartest person ever.

Trump's style definitely isn't my style at all and I have been very disappointed with this entire negotiation process on our part but I am willing to wait it out to see if things can get better.

I think there has been stuff going on for some time and it blew up today. We are clearly not on the same page with Ukraine. Other politicians have been attacking Zelenskyy too such as Marco Rubio and JD Vance are apparently really upset at them and cite several insulting actions going back to Biden era. I know that they are biased parties but it has you thinking.

How exactly is this a new position for Graham?

you're selective in the article you chose for Graham has voted to send aid to Zelensky;

Does anyone have a video of the full meeting, I see the Vance and Trump response but not Zelenskyy's actions that they are responding to because that is cut off in most videos.

And he's flip flopped back and forth numerous times, so again, how is this any different?

We're about to see how quickly the U.S. can become obsolete. Europe cannot risk a Russian win. A Pootin victory in Ukraine won't be enough. He'll turn his eyes to countries that are NATO members, and Europe will have to send physical troops. They can either outlast Putin, or potentially face another World War with us on the side of Russia.

That's why European Countries have been saying this week that they are considering putting boots on the ground to defend Ukraine, because they know that Pootin will invade other countries after this.
LOL. You can't possibly believe the things you type.

Forbes gave one as well.

While Zelenskyy got a little petty, I think Trump and Vance overreacted. As stated, I think there is even more going on in backrooms. Trump is obsessed with getting this deal done and it hasn't been going the way he wants IMO.

He's getting angry because he promised a swift end to the war and he's realizing he can't just bluster a war away. Z not accepting the deal is proving that and Trump obviously set up this whole dog and pony show press conference to "wash his hands" of the situation. It was an embarrassing farce. Stop the flow of weapons and money and let Europe take the lead but don't gaslight the American public with that disaster.
