Warning For Indiana Residents

I gotta go with this. How much crime are you actually stopping by sitting on the road and handing out tickets?
I want boots on the ground. Actual officers walking around shopping centers or on bikes going through neighborhoods. You're not going to catch a rapist or robber by sitting on the side of the road.

And another thing. I pass cops sitting in parking lots all the time. Just sitting there. Engine on. What are they doing? How does this help anyone?

Speeders and drunk drivers mostly. And as a survivor of 2 separate drunk driving accidents, I am more than happy for the police to sit around and get them off the road.

I do think that there are much more important duties than ticket writing but someone has to do it. That said, its pretty sad when these clown you have come into contact with take that particular suty so seriously and act like they are big and bad when really, they are they are doing is camping out behind the bush waiting for someone to drive past.

I'm all for handing out tickets ( a big tickets too) to people who speed in 25 MPR subdivision.

I just like polite, respectful people. I've been the guy with a rifle and been firm and assertive without coming across as "I've got a gun" aggressive. Barney Fife acting like John Wayne is why i don't donate to any LE charities and the like.

Drunk drivers I totally agree with. But wouldnt this be more a night time thing. Not a 2 pm thing?

I'm just thinking.

I would laugh except presence patrol is the term an officer actually used with me whe I asked him why I see cops just sitting in parking lots on their phones.

Really, presence patrol is talking about the cruisers you see in driveways of houses. The departments hope that a police presense in the neighborhood will deter crime.

Yes, daytime is more for the speeders. 10 over is one thing, those people that do 25 over is another. I'm glad they are nailing them too.

20% OF COPS ARE COPS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND HELP.

80% ARE JUST D-BAGS LOOKING TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL IMPORTANT.

This is going to create some really bad situations.

I'd doubt there are even that many Serpicos out there.

I got a DUI, didn't complain. 2nd man on the scene was a buddy from my private club, shat happens. I deserved it. Arresting officer was a piece of shat, though. Glad he got fired for banging hookers on duty.

I am truly sorry you've had such bad experiences with LEOs...

25 over you need your license taken away unless we're talking interstate speeds. 90 on some interstates isn't bad. 25 over on a normal road is stupid though.

Not all cops are bad. But I have noticed that once you take the out of their ticket writing element they seem to lose the situation quickly.

I really feel bad for you guys. Some of the bravest, kindest men I know are police officers. Those same people are they ones that got me into CJ in the first place. Never had a bad experience with the police in my life.

Again, that's because any Joe Shmo can pass the exam and be a cop. There is certainly a benefit to going to college and getting a degree in Criminal Justice. I really wish departments would be more selective when they are taking trainees.

I'd say I have one positive situation with a cop for every five or six crappy ones I have.

Best one, I was being an idiot and speeding on the way to work by a lot. It was five after and told the cop I was late and apologized saying I wasn't thinking and it was no excuse. He bent over backwards to scratch out a ticket as quickly as I could and get me on my way.

Muslims generally good but sometimes a bit odd. Cops usually dickheads. Weed great.*

So is this Widmer Drifter I'm sipping. Tasty.
