Was Notre Dame much better than UT?

i almost hate to revisit this thread, but i have time to waste. for the record, i dont like ND but i am realistic. people are calling ND weak, yet there was silence about the fact they beat ten teams that played in bowl games. ND was well qualified for that game. alabama was on fire and came better prepared than ND, period.

And in the NC game we saw the same system that CBJ will run. Look how well it did against the SEC best. And we want to cheer stealing recruits from Cincy and Vandy???? Great hire Hart, way to F it up. The NC game is a shinning example of why you go after coaches that can get 4&5 star recruits, because you sure as hell won't beat anyone worth a damn in the SEC with the 2&3 stars we are getting.

this point could have some merit if not for fact that its weeks before NSD and he has not been on the 4/5 star kids for the past year at cincy. we all know the 4/5 star kids are sitting at home totally unsure of there choices this close to signing day.:ermm::eek:k:

Tennessee would have made a bowl game if they played ND's schedule. ND went unbeaten.

Yes, ND was better than Tennessee.

There are at least 5 SEC teams who would easily handle Notre Dame. At least 5. And just so not to get Mike Golic crying again, I am not including A&M in those 5.

I love UT as much as anyone but ..........you have got to be joking to even ask such a question. Threads like this make our fan base look like....to put it nicely, not so smart.

We couldnt beat Vandy. As they say on ESPN.....Come on man!!!!!

This! ...more sunshine pumper garbage.

Yes, Tennessee would beat Notre Dame

Are you people insane? Do you remember the "defense" Buddy Hacket put on the field?

We LOST to MIZZOU, VANDY.

ND would have won by 2 TD's, they had some fairly nice wins and 0 losses until bammer destroyed them.

Did anyone reply with a simple yet emphatic "yes" yet? That would be the correct answer. Yes, ND is way better than UT.

I am thinking not. Notre Dame was exposed as a fraud---over hyped and Manti Te'o possibly the most overhyped player--ever. The Tennessee team we saw early in the season----GA, SC, even UF games---could have played with the Domers---IMO. Obviously UT got regressively worse later on, but on their best day, I say they compete with the Exposed #1 team. Last night was fraud night. Manti couldn't tackle---anyone. The Vols' O Line ranks among the best --lest we forget.

Yes. ND would have handled this year's UT squad with ease. Even in Knoxville.

When you're sweating wins over Vandy and Kentucky, your team sucks.

Not only could we not beat Vandy, but we couldn't keep Vandy from beating the living sh*t out of us.

is this a joke? Notre Dame would've killed us

It's easy to sit at home and not play and notice how everyone else sucks and forget you were so bad you werent allowed to play.

Notre dame, lsu, florida, Oklahoma etc are good teams that lost bowk games for various reasons.

A single game does not change the body of work.

Notre dame beat stanford, Michigan, Oklahoma, usc. They were a very good team

I hate agreeing with you. ND would have beat the hell out of us, especially with our former coaching staff.

I don't like this argument. USC was trash this year. Not an impressive win. They got Michigan and Stanford before they made switches to MUCH more productive QB's. Oklahoma is a good win but I'm not sold on how good OU was this year seeing as the Big 12 is average at best. Bottom line, I think ND would win 7-9 games if they played our schedule. Better than us? Yeah but not so much better that we couldn't beat them if we played well.

Also I think people should consider this. If UT plays Pitt, what is the result? BYU? Do they beat Boston College by more than two touchdowns (ND beat them by 15)? Does it take a field goal with 10 seconds left to beat Purdue? My point is I see no evidence that says ND would blow out UT seeing as they really didn't blow anyone out (save Miami and Navy).

Some of you really need to put down the crackpipe.

Who'd we blowout?

Who'd we blowout?

Not relevant. More relevant would be who did we hang with. Georgia, Florida, USCe. All better than ND, not to mention all more well equipped to blow people out. My argument is that it would be a close game and anything can happen in a close game. I think the evidence shows ND struggled all year to put teams away and we hung with a lot of great teams.

Yes. Notre Dame is two touchdowns better than us. Nick Saban makes a lot of teams look worse than they are when he has an entire month to gameplan.

We also "hung" with Missouri, Troy, and for most of the game Akron, and got the crap kicked out of us by Vandy. Which means you really don't have much of an argument because if "hanging" with those teams meant anything, we would have beaten Vandy and Missouri, and destroyed Troy and Akron.
