Watching the BCS Game Tonight (Official game thread)

I know it's a 60 minute game, but should they go ahead and give Bama the trophy? Prediction for final score Bama 42, Notre Dame 10!
I know we're all Vol homers, but I think you're selling Bama short there. I don't see any way ND scores 10 unless Bama only plays 7 players.

ok that's funny but don't mess with mil. lets say Tulane or North Texas...... and yes i know they played Navy.

No disrespect to the military academies.

Notre Dame plays Navy every year and football is not first and foremost at Annapolis.

How would Bammer fare against a team that consisted of:

Three 1st Team All-Conference players
Three 2nd Team All-Conference players
One 1st Team All-American
One 2nd Team All-American and
One Heisman Finalist
Multiple Record-Holders for their respected teams...

...all from BCS Conferences...

..who have had a few years developing and playing big-boy ball together?

Because this is the starting OFFENSE of the Kansas City Chiefs.

I fully agree. ND should NEVER be in a BCS game. What gets me is there are still teams that will make the playoffs that only play 12 games in a season. I think we should go to a 9 or 10 game conference schedule and drop the SECCG. Why play 13 games when 12 can get you in the playoffs?

They deserve a BCS game. I agree with everything else whole-heartedly.

I'd also say that Oregon should've been in this one is so obviously it doesn't need saying-- even if this game was close.

Of course, after the Vols and the Griz, I'm about as objective about the Ducks as a 14 year old boy at the Playboy mansion....

why is urbain on the dayum ncgame giving commentary?the ncaa is a joke!

Why is Urban Meyer on here? He a current coach. Maybe it's happened before and I haven't paid attention.

there are about 14 members of the 2008 gators who would start for the jaguars right now, i tell you that

Night now. Maybe.

But them or any national championship team would get smoked by the worst NFL team. An NFL 3rd string would beat a national championship team

Which team played the strongest schedule Bama or the Irish? Seems the Irish play 2-3 teams from the Big 10. Well, Bama blew Michigan away. Bama could take Notre Dame's schedule and do just as well as they did and maybe better. Could the Irish go through Bama's schedule and come away undefeated? I don't think so!

Did I just answer my own question? I know Bama played 3 non-conference games and beat them easy. Is Notre Dame going to the Big 10 in football? If so, don't think they'll have it easy every year.

Is there anohter conference as good as the SEC in football over the last decade? Last 15 years? How many SEC schools have won the National Championship since 1998 since it went the BCS way? Remember the Vols were the 1st team to win it!

i made that post because i don't know if anyone thought about this, but under normal circumstances we are watching notre dame vs. ohio state

Oh I'm aware of that and it sends cold chills down the spine. How gross would that be? It would be 7-6 at half and everyone would be talking about how awesome they both are.

We don't recruit against the Irish, we recruit against bama. 95% of Vol fans pulling for bama are under the age of 28. If you were a little bit older, then you would know that Vol fans HATE bama and everything they stand for.

Just throwing that out there for the older crowd that hears me.

As long as Saban is at Bama...they are getting their share of 4* and 5* recruits. Accept it. But what we can hope for is for Notre Dame to get pummeled. Why? Because those 4* and 5* recruits who don't want to go to Bama will now think twice before wasting their time at Notre Dame.

It is obvious that ND has a drug problem, They are getting drug all over the field.

The key word is interpreted. There's not language in the rule book that supports that interpretation which is why it is wrong. It is interpreted that way at times and I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying that "interpretation" is unsupported and wrong.

I'd agree-- I hate vague laws, much less mere rules left up to the kind of minds that called that mystery 1st down in the South Carolina game. It's just asking for trouble.

In the call we're talking about though, I'd agree it was a good call according to a bad rule... that is, while the ND player was way too close not to be called, there ought to be an exception when your own player is such a doofus they not only come just as close but actually run into their own guy...

Has happened before. I'd rather have him making accurate analysis than Bradshaw or some goof. I think everything he has said is true concerning the game. They can't play man, or remotely get pressure in the backfield. McCarron has all day to throw. Flip it around and you have Alabama playing one deep safety and predominately man-free or cover zero. Golson is getting abused and hit every play.
