It would be nice to pull an upset.....but just hope we stay healthy for SEC play. If we are competitive and not injured..its in win......but come Fla at Neyland???

Run, run, and more of running the ball is what we're gonna have to do if we wanna have a snowballs chance. Rotate three RB's in this game.

Just saw today where Oklahoma is ranked #1 in Sporting News preseason poll. Call me whatever but I would have rather us bought this game out and paid for a win against an FCS.

Then go cheer for Vandy then. They love fans who are wusses. OU is nowhere near #1, they are just getting a lot of love because they beat Alabama.

This is the kind of fan our program produces these days. It's sickening.

As well as this type of fan!

So you replace OU with a cream-puff and go 6-6. What have you proven? NOTHING!

These same fans are the ones that laugh at Vandy's NC schedule but that's exactly what they want UT to do. Sad!

Way Too Early to Tell: Oklahoma vs. Tennessee Volunteers

This article was posted on the Oklahoma Fansided site and gives their prediction for the game. It gives these scenarios, which applies to them:

Best case: Oklahoma gets an early test, but overpowers an inferior Tennessee team

Worst case: Tennessee avenges the SEC, and stymies Oklahoma’s offensive attack

He goes on to say that OU will win by 18. What is your take on this article? What are your predictions for the game?

We gonna beat that boomer sooner a$$! Go Vols!!!

MY take is…. the Vols will have something to say about that! The Vols are young , but far from inferior.

Just my opinion, but I think this years team will just be too young and inexperienced to overcome a program like OU. Especially playing at their house. Those Freshmen will have to grow up in a hurry to be able to compete for four quarters on a national stage like that. Easier said than done. I think the Vols keep it close for most of the game just on grit and determination alone, but I don't expect a win. Got to have great O-line play and hopefully get our passing game in check to open up the run game for Hurd and Lane. If we can do that, we may have a shot at an upset early in the season. If we steal that one in Norman, then look out! That could be a nice confidence boost for those guys going into the conference schedule! Go Vols!!!

Go thumb through the Oregon thread of last year; I'd say that "fan" is probably accurate. You can hype this game up all you want; we are outmatched and if we win it'll be because Jones cooked up the perfect game plan, found a 4 leaf clover, and stoops saw 15 black cats in a single day.

If we stay within 20 that will be good so early in the season, next year we just might have something for the little red sooner wagon.

As long as it doesn't get out of hand I'll be happy. Lose by 18 would be disappointing. Let's be honest, we have a 20% chance.

People seem to forget really quickly.

The Oregon gameday thread should be required reading. This place was convinced by kickoff that UT would win handily because of our speed and we played in the SEC. :eek:lol:

Your type is worse.

And people like you are the reason there's a "fire so and so coach" thread after every loss. Expecting to win every game when we know what kind of team we have and what they have. Put your orange kool aid down

Because I don't "hope" for "not that bad of a blowout"? Sorry but I don't care if it's Bama, Oregon, FSU, whoever... I won't be proud of an 18 point loss. Therefore I won't hope for an 18 point loss. Losing by that much to anyone is an embarrassment. We've been embarrassed a lot recently, but that doesn't mean I'm ok with (and hoping for) a bad loss.

It's funny you say I'm the kind of fan that wants a coach fired when I've caught plenty of slack for supporting Dooley far longer than most did.

But I digress, keep hoping teams will show mercy on us. I'll keep my "hoping" geared towards a successful game every Saturday.

I guess maybe I'm old school but the way I grew up it get your heart in or butt out no part time fans need apply. I believe we have a shot to win every game we play. I have seen some very bad years and I have also saw greatness! Either way I'm a fan who will always give my all for the Vols! That is all go Vols!
