The Oregon gameday thread should be required reading. This place was convinced by kickoff that UT would win handily because of our speed and we played in the SEC.

lol:
I disagree. I think you're mistaking some of the optimism of game day (which wasn't much imo) "with [some fans] being convinced we'd win handily," more that we could win or might pull an upset, tho' some did believe in an upset as they were hyped. Also, I don't recall any fans truly believing we'd win
handily. "We gon' whoop dey azz" is a fairly common saying around here that is rather meaningless and often sarcastic. If anything, I think some fans believed we could hang but I recall very few, if any, saying we'd win handily and none touting the "SEC means we rox Oregun" line.
Heaven forbid a few fans got optimistic/hyped on game day and/or thought we might have a chance to win.
I know it's popular/fashionable to call fellow fans delusional, and some certainly are, but it's a cheap shot no different from the many other cheap shots we take at one another because we have no one else to really pick on and because some of us like to fight and/or be right online.
We really gotta stop eating our own.
I cain't wait until we are not classified as "bottom dwellers". I win at OU would quickly change that.
I agree. Although I think we're more entrenched in being 'meh' or mediocre than anything else these past few years. It's just that our fall was from such great heights that it creates the perception is "zomg! Tennessee is awful." Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy at ALL with where we are and the emotional side of me says "damn we're terrible" and we are historically speaking but rationally speaking it's more that we're not playing like Tennessee should and we're downright terrible given our history, our resources, and other factors.
I'm not an optimist by nature, never bought in to Kiffin or Dooley, but I do feel something special is happening on the Hill and we'll be back soon. Could be wrong but that's how I feel about it.
