We Can Only Sign 26....

We don't have depth at WR. We need another WR commit this class.

I just meant depth relative to other positions...never seen a team this thin everywhere. That's why I can't understand everyone being so negative on the coaching staff 6 games in; there's a reason big name coaches were scared of the job.

I would be hard pressed to drop Young for two reasons. 1) His speed makes him mega-valuable on ST from Day 1 and 2) We have never had a huge amount of in-state talent, I think it goes a long way for the future to start 'building the fence' around the state

So UT gets to sign one more than the limit of 25 because of one scholly not used last year on Lofton.

Makes sense to me.

I'm just saying that D young would be a great candidate for a gray shirt. You know since he lives in Knoxville.

"Building a fence" around the state would do nothing for us unless Memphis is included, and that's not happening. For every Randall Cobb or Aaron Douglas, there are 100 Tyler Maples, Josh Hawkins, Anthony Andersons, etc.

Unless we tell some commitments to look elsewhere it looks like the staff will have to decide between taking another DB or WR. No way you dont take another OL, DT's, & a LB.

I know that Juda has decommitted. Is there any others that you feel may decommit? I read in another thread about Posey maybe interested in UKan I believe, and legs to that?

Tino Thomas and hopefully Cameron Clear could be a good start; be better to start shooting for 70% of Memphis instead of Alabama ruling the town. This wouldn't be a quick change, but it would be nice to do better than in the past.

IMO..here's how it goes (in a perfect world):

2 OL's: Richardson, Clear
3 DT's: Couch, Wright, Johnson
1 LB: Paul
1 WR: Arnett
1 DE: Pagan or Rasco
1 TE: Rome

I've listed 9 takes...that gives us 29 total counting total commits...

I say we drop Parker...and since Johnson has about a snowballs chance in Hades of qualifying he'll be a sign and place...that makes 27...either we drop someone else or we don't take someone on this list....

Of course this all might be moot if we're not able to land the players on that list

wish USC would lose about 5 more games so we could steal some more players
I bet the staff takes a look at some more transfers as well

Can their players still transfer and not have to sit a year out? Or was that deal over once the season started?

yes they can..or atleast that is how i remember that punishment

as long as they have more than 1 year left

More than one year? I thought this year only Jr.s and Sr.s could transfer since they were the ones mostly affected by the two year post season ban.

Do JUCO players count against the 26? I thought they do, but I read elsewhere that they count against the class that resembles the remaing eligibility. Can someone clarify?
