We Can Only Sign 26....

I see from the beginning of the thread that we have 7 to give, but when I read through the individual threads, I see offer after offer. If everybody said yes, that would be many more than the 7 spots. So what is the deal? Difference in offers and committable offers?

1) Sign 28, maybe 2 don't qualify. Sign & place them.

Or 2) Sign 28, all qualify, then greyshirt 2 of them. (Jan. 2012 enrollees.)

Better IMO than signing 26 & 2 don't qualify. Then you're two short when we need all of the bodies we can get.

I'd rather over-sign a few kids to get our numbers back up to normal--just as long as DD lets the kids know before hand.

I know there's a rather passionate group of people who think this is a dirty way recruiting but if DD discusses this with kid and/or his family and explains to them the situation it will prevent a situation from going from bad to worse.

...but then I could be wrong.

So...should the thread title have enroll in place of sign?

My understanding is that we can sign up to 28 (even though Auburn signed 32 this past year...not sure how that didn't break the new rule)...but we can only enroll 26

Yes, I think so.

Devrin's 4.32 is accurate. It was electric timed.

so with young coming in, does this effect evander wells playing next year?
will he come back and if so does this put wells and young as the TN kick return guys so the other position players can focus on their job (oku and gordon for example)
