We lost when Phillips didn’t take the dunk

We went froze standing and thinking the dunk should wrap it up to WTH is going on and a missed foul shot. The Vandy player was wide open and it looked good when it left his hand. It was a horrible feeling to see us lose like that in person, and then rush the court. Plus Uros got into it w someone and refused to leave court until security came.

How many 1 seeds are there? Four
How many 2? Four
How many 3? Four
4x3=12

UT dropped from 2 to 9. After this loss, which is a bad loss, I predict 13. Based on ranking and 2nd grade math, that puts the Vols as a four seed.

Edit: my bad, the AP has them 6th. My point remains. If we don’t get some stuff fixed quick, we won’t be a four seed. This team has major issues and is heading wrong direction.

If only the AP determined seeding

Phillips should have dunked, Vescovi should have hit the FT and he should have guarded the guy that hit the game winning shot. 3 Free Throws for the entire game tells you all you need to know about this team!

You’re nuts… he had 15 ft on everyone and even if he gets fouled you get 2 free throws instead of 1 and 1 later. He didn’t want it.

I think he did what he thought he was supposed to do. He wanted it but something convinced him time was more important than points. My guess is he doesnt make that mistake again.

He was going to get knocked to the floor if he went up for that. No chance of scoring.
Only way he gets knocked to the floor is if somebody hits him while he's hanging on the rim after the dunk. It was just a freshman over thinking things, but it still wasn't a devastating play really. It was the first in a series of 3 fluke plays that it took to lose: passing up the dunk; choking from the FT line; leaving a shooter wide open at the buzzer.

That’s a freshman not understanding the situation. He only had about 2 seconds to process what was happening and over thought it. He was trying to not be selfish and made a mistake. **** happens.
And Vescovi...a senior....left his man for the game winner. Overall, not a very smart/aware....pick your descriptor...team.

Exactly what I said as soon as he did it. It was a bad mistake because he really could not help defend the drive to the basket at that point.

Phillips was so open it probably suprisred him and he hesitated a moment, then was not in position.
