At this point they are playing with freshman and sophomores.
Again we beat a mid major wsu team that really has not played anybody.
People were saying the samething last year about kentucky. No they are not as good this year, but at the end of the year they will be a top 25 team.
I know maymon would make this team way better, but the offense has not improved at all the whole season.
Offense is supposedly easier to fix.
We averaged 65 points our first 7 games, 71 our last 3, I'm no Einstein but that'd appear to be improvement to me.
You can also say that against a good defensive team in Georgetown we put up 37. Fast forward a couple weeks and against a comparable defensive team in Wichita State we put up 69. I'd call that improvement.
We got thrashed by okie st laying 4.
You got to be kidding? georgetown averages what 6'8 wsu might be 6'4

Was that Vegas betting line or a basketball projection site. I think we both know that the Vegas line is about where the action is more than it is about their thoughts of the game. I'm pretty sure Kenpom and Sagarin had UT as a toss up at best.
Edit: I went back and looked. I actually posted it in the game thread back when UT played Ok St. Kenpom had UT by 1 point.
The 4 was the closing line in Vegas. Since it was a neutral site game it was a good guage of public perception (Vegas) and statistical strength (kenpom). Losing in the spectacular fashion that we did made it a bad loss. We'll have several chances of picking up some good road wins. We just need to capitalize on those.
The way they lost was very detrimental. I worked that day and didn't see that game, I don't think I missed much. The one saving grace is the selection committee doesn't really look at how 'bad' you lose as closely as they probably should.

I think the selection committee concentrates on the 'what have you done for me lately' aspect more than bad early losses. I think they are much more likely to discount that loss to a great degree if Martin has the boys clicking as we get nearer the Dance.
Honestly, it seems like it changes from year to year. Remember the year UT was ranked #1 and had the #1 RPI in the country but lost to Arkansas(?) in the SECt? And then got a 2 seed? Only explanation for that is UT was punished for losing late to what was not perceived as a very good Arkansas team.
But most years, I would agree that early season games are not weighed as heavily as later games.
And you continue to duck my question...do you wanna put some money where your mouth is or do you enjoy just talking out of your a$$?
You said well lose to Kentucky by 30, and will 15-15 at best...CAN WE PLEASE PUT SOME MONEY ON THIS?
Go back through the thread and see where I said we will lose by 30.(talk out your ass?)You are a joke.
You are telling me you think it is easier to play against shorter players. That is just rediculous. Height/length bothers a shooter more than anything. Hence the length of georgetown in their zone. They are on a 7-8 game run of holding opponents under 45 points. When wsu does that hollerback at me.
Talking out of your ass comes from comparing wsu to Georgetown.
As easy as offense is to fix should we still be scoring 22 points in a half?
Scoring 22 in a half isn't a problem when you score 44 in the second half. How about looking at the whole game overall, then again that wouldn't help your point would it?
If they score 22 at kentucky in the first half the game will not be close. You can also count on the refs not being on the boys in orange side. Our guys are not ging to shoot 20 free throws in the first half there.
Can I jump in on this wager as well?
