We will BEAT Ohio St and it could be a BLOWOUT

Tennessee 41
Ohio State 14
That is the exact score of the Tennessee-Alabama game in '95, when the Peyton Manning led Vols finally beat the Gumps after 9 long years. The Knoxville News-Sentinal had "41-14" as their headline the next day. In orange ink. Still got that front page framed and hanging on the wall. That game is why that street in front of Neyland is named after him.

It was epic. I'll never forget that night. Tennessee had superior talent, just loaded. Bama had Brian Burgdorf playing QB I believe. It was a massacre.

Only 1 team has score more than 20 against us and I don't think Ohio State is as good as UGA with prime Carson Beck. Ohio State hasn't faced a defense like ours all year. We've faced multiple defenses better than Ohio State.

Tennessee - 27
Ohio State - 17
OSU has only given up more than 17 points once this year, and that was the 32 #1 Oregon scored.

They’re not exactly playing record breaking offenses though either in the Big Ten. What do you think the talent differential is in most of those games?

This is one of the keys, imo. Their defense is elite, possibly as good as ours, possibly better, but we have faced defenses at least on par with it. I don’t think they have seen anything remotely like our defense, including Oregon.

I don’t know how to feel about this game. I could see a close win or blowout by either side.

If we establish the run and complete some downfield passes, coupled with putting pressure on Howard and shutting-down their run game, we win going away.

If we let Howard have time and let them have a decent rushing attack, it would probably be really bad the other way.
🤔😅

I agree. It did not happen against UGA. Of late pressuring the QB has not been stellar.
I agree as well. I think you guys will have a good chance to win. Get pressure with 4 and make it tough for them to run the ball. GA’s o-line played very well when you guys came to Sanford, I’m not sure tOSU can do the same.

I think if TN doesn’t turn it over and Sampson has a good day the Vols win. I really hope you guys stomp them in their house, that would be awesome.

Are the Vols gonna be on the losing side of OSU bowl record against the SEC? They are 2-12 against the SEC in bowl matchups.

I think we match up well with Ohio State and win but i don't think we blow them out. Besides terrible competition, we haven't blown anyone out. And minus the first half at Georgia, our offense looked below average in the only other hostile environments. I think we've grown up but Ohio state has elite talent across the board. Lucky for us, they suffer from Inadequate coaching.

I think I read somewhere, if we win the Rosebowl, we'd become the 1st program to have wins in all the Major Bowl games, so there's that. No one cares much about UCLA's home stadium, agreed, but
it would be nice for us WestCoast Vol fans.
That doesn’t sound like it tracks. Unless we’re counting all those Peach Bowl games when it was a minor/mid-level-bowl game between 1968-2013.

Feel free to bump this thread when it happens. Big 10 Football is a joke compared to SEC and we’ll probably have the most fans for an away game that they’ve ever seen. They’ll be shook. We will beat their ass
I am so salty about having to go to Columbus, Ohio. I’ll be having a booming rendition of Rocky Top every time it’s played letting those Yanks know what’s up.

The last time Tennessee played in the Rose Bowl was January 1, 1945. Dad, a Naval Aviator during WWII, said he listened to the game on radio somewhere in the world. We lost 25-0 to USC.
