We will BEAT Ohio St and it could be a BLOWOUT

I would look at how OSU OL/DL lines did against NEB, PSU, Oregon, Indiana, and Michigan to see how we may stack up against them.
For example, Oregon may not be as strong on Defense as they won but did not dominate. 37 to PSU and 32 to OSU.
The Big10 is a good conference but it is nothing like the SEC. We all know that and this is another chance to prove it.
ESPN will never say it because they would lose half their viewership if they did.

The stadium will be packed but ticket prices coming down substantially. Tickets may be given away at some point to fill the stadium....A Night game and cold, students at home on Christmas break.

The old timers will more than likely watch this from the den easy recliner. Watch this 20 to 40 ft from Bedroom vs driving home.

Had this been a day game it is sold out. Night game may have taken some of the home field advantage OSU had in a day game.

Look at the facts.

Night game vs day game
AD begging (asking) fans not to sale their tickets to UT Fans + Rabid UT Fans vs the real truth Passionate UT Fans
Michigan Fiasco and how poorly they played in that game
Day's coaching questions.

Much more.
I don't think they've played a night game all year and that's about all UT has played except for the past 2 games. Our SOS is a lot higher or should be. UT needs every advantage it can get and above all avoid turnovers and costly penalties. I don't see a blowout but UT can win this one. GBO !!!!

Feel free to bump this thread when it happens. Big 10 Football is a joke compared to SEC and we’ll probably have the most fans for an away game that they’ve ever seen. They’ll be shook. We will beat their ass

Disagree with pretty much all of that lol. The Big Ten is easily the second best conference. It is not the SEC, but it’s a very good league. And Ohio State, to me, is like if a premier SEC program played in the Big 10. They will give us all we can handle, no doubt.

Ohio State is a very talented and dangerous team. I expect a hard fought game if we’re lucky enough to come out with a win. Michigan is in their heads for whatever reason Day decided to play right into the strength of that Michigan team.

Protect the QB, protect the ball, and I think we have a good shot. I think we match up pretty well with them. A lot of people have pointed to our secondary being weak bc of our passing yards allowed; I think our cbs and safeties are very good our lbers though struggle in coverage.
They better be because they will never have seen anything like true freshmen Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka, both 1st rounders, if Smith came out today. Smith is so good he would be a top 5 pick right now and start in the NFL. That's not me saying that but what the experts say. If our DL can create enough pressure to avoid throws to those guys we have got a good shot. Otherwise, I shudder. Carnell Tate is also dangerous there plus 3-4 5*s.

Oh they’re dangerous at WR. One of the best programs at recruiting and developing that position. Still think our secondary matches up better with them than our linebackers covering passes over the middle.

They are certainly akin to an upper-echelon SEC program in terms of tradition, resources, and talent, but there’s something to be said for playing an SEC schedule and playing these hard fought games week after week. UT is battle-tested; I’m not sure OSU is.

They played two night games and won both.

They'll be playing a Tennessee team that is equivalent to what they've played all season. We are by no means an offensive powerhouse when we aren't playing Kent State or UTEP.
Yes absolutely equivalent. Same speed and everything. Just ask Iowa.

It really could....if it's allowed....I'm nervous wondering if we get to play or the refs change momentum....welcome to the new world..lol...took me 54 yrs to get here...how 'bout you?....

You could also spin that as: they aren't as beat up as an SEC team at the end of the year because the B1G schedule is softer.

It's all in how you want to spin it.

Any decent qb can make plays when they have all day. It's extremely hard to stop when a reciever starts to improvise.
I wouldn’t say beck had all day but he definitely wasn’t rushed either. He picked us apart. Our secondary is much improved, but much of their success has came from our defensive front causing problems.

Eh, you could have guys get injured playing Carson Newman. They played Akron this year, after all. They have more critical injuries than we do regardless.

That is the exact score of the Tennessee-Alabama game in '95, when the Peyton Manning led Vols finally beat the Gumps after 9 long years. The Knoxville News-Sentinal had "41-14" as their headline the next day. In orange ink. Still got that front page framed and hanging on the wall. That game is why that street in front of Neyland is named after him.
Everytime I see that score I think of THAT game

I live in big ten country.

The SEC is absolutely the better conference at the top, thru the middle, and at the bottom.

BUT

Some of you act like they’re a MAC conference. Cripes…

If you really believe that, I recommend you take out a home equity loan on your house and bet big on the Vols. I personally will be keeping my money in my pocket. I love my Vols and will root for them all the way. But I don't see us coming out of the gates wobbly, like we have against nearly every power 5 team we've played this year, and storming back to win. Not a chance of a blowout in our favor. We haven't looked good after either bye week. Defenses, even mediocre ones, have been able to make us look sad for the first half of the games. Our defense has saved our offense in every one of those games. I think our D will have a great game. But they are going to be pass heavy against us and that's been our Achilles heal for about 4 years now. We're going to be able to run the ball just as we do against everybody. I don't think Ohio state's going to shut that down. But we're not going to be to crank out the points needed to win this game if we can't throw the ball. I admittedly have a dim view on Nico so far. Lot of folks on here singing his praises. Considering that he was the top quarterback in the nation coming out of high school and has had a year on the sidelines to learn the system and has had an entire season under his belt at the helm, I'm not impressed. Every time he gets against a real defense, especially one that gets to him, he just looks worse and worse. If he starts fumbling the ball or throwing stupid interceptions by just chucking it in the air, this game will be over at halftime.

Then you should take out a loan and bet it on Ohio state. Personally I took the under and Tennessee to cover.

B1G is not as good as the SEC but Ohio State would be elite in any conference, including the SEC. To me, the B1G is mostly just Michigan and Ohio State most years (well now Oregon since they joined).

If they played now I think they would beat Arkansas but lose to SC

The comment was obviously about not being over confident. I know the coaches aren't and hope the team isn't.
Tennessee would be Arkansas 29 out of 30 times, oh how things would be different if this year had not been #30
